These have a serious chance of making my list.
I need to check the contents of the existing list first to compare, and also decide how many to have in my list:
A Hard Day’s Night, The Beatles (1964)
Ticket to Ride, The Beatles (1964)
Paperback Writer, The Beatles (1966)
Perfect Day, Lou Reed (1972)
Rocket Man, Elton John (1972)
Life on Mars, David Bowie (1973)
Love is the Drug, Roxy Music (1975)
Fernando, ABBA (1976)
Being Boiled, The Human League (1978)
Dance Away, Roxy Music (1979)
Angel Eyes, Roxy Music (1979)
Ashes to Ashes, David Bowie (1980)
Enola Gay, OMD (1980)
Souvenir, OMD (1981)
Don’t You Want Me Baby, The Human League (1981)
Jealous Guy, Roxy Music (1981)
The Day Before You Came, ABBA (1982)
*Say a Prayer, Duran Duran (1982)
Running Up That Hill, Kate Bush (1985)
Absolute Beginners, David Bowie (1986)
donet thing Bein Boiled is pop izzit?
innphaqued only ABBA i wud say is
most of them have been described as pop
being boiled is described as synth pop, although i must say I struggle with it being defined as pop.
But then I feel I can accept fade to grey, and it's pretty much exactly the same song.
the beatles tracks might be problematic though.
The Beatles definitely started off as a pop band, probably everything up to Rubber Soul.
I've given further consideration to the genres of these songs and will advise my personal findings shortly.

Yeah, appreciate that. The 3 songs I picked though seem to tend to get described as rock.
But having listened to them again I'm happy with them in the pop category.
I'm happy with all of the 70s (and 80s) ones I listed last night being included in pop, EXCEPT for the following that I have concerns over and am giving further deliberation:
Rocket Man, Elton John (1972)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtVBCG6ThDk
Life on Mars, David Bowie (1973)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZKcl4-tcuo
Angel Eyes, Roxy Music (1979)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYP6F3gX68Q
(I can definitely hear a little bit of disco in there)
Running Up That Hill, Kate Bush (1985)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp43OdtAAkM
So.
I am OK with Life on Mars.
I am NOT OK with Rocket man.
I am NOT OK with Running up that Hill.
I CAN NOT DECIDE on Angel Eyes.
i'm also removing
Flashdance (disco), and
81,82,83,84 (dance/edm)
respectively
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/4BRJeq9031w
so I have 54 tracks atm.
will choose 4 for the chop.
it's a belting list.
btw, when I said feet can't leave the dance floor.
there's an exception if it's just people jumping up and down euphorically.
