Christianity has no place in this country. Deport all Christians to third world countries where that ideology belongs. The government trying to hide the Christian grooming gangs in churches.

When you lie on your death bed and contemplate an eternity of ceasing to be, you might wish you had some faith that there is something beyond and that may give you some comfort that death isnt the end.

That is the essence of religion to me, and that fear has been manipulated and exploited more than anything else in human history, but that is what it boils down to IMO.

I am therefore not critical of those who have faith, it is their choice and in the vast majority of cases it results in many positive life choices. But as with any large institution, if there is no real accountability and independent oversight, bad shiiit will happen and will be covered up.

No - Justin Welby has. And he doesn’t represent the entirety of organised religion - just as Saville doesn’t represent all broadcasters

Organised religion has done a lot of good and there are plenty of good people in the church.
Sadly their names have been blackened by the actions of others across the main religions.

Not religious myself haven’t grown up in the shadow of the Catholic Church in the 70s and 80s. No problem with folks beliefs and if someone can go into a church etc and pray or reflect a while and come out feeling better then that is not a bad thing.

However I just cannot comprehend living your life by it but each to their own.
