"monetisation"?
As in Claude Monetisation?
That's the "impression" I got.

Agreed, it looks absolutely horrific. It was probably some idiot's job to come up with that. More licence payers money wasted on stupid, unnecessary "innovation".
Neon JA606 is funded at present by us Admin's and our cash reserves from other work . As far as Ads we are very conscious as to how little we want damage user experience so treading carefully in that capacity.
They're all saying the same thing. Too much clutter. Looks like a cheap version of the Sky Sports website.

Looks like a cheap version of my teenage daughter´s bedroom floor!
People saying. Its because no one likes change and you'll get used it. Its got nothing to do with that. They redesigned the BBC News website a while back. I never go on there now simply because its too "in your face" with all the pointless features. Same thing they've done now with the Sport website. Too much white space looks bad but too little white space is equally horrible.
Admin 1, if you took me on, I would be able to fund the whole site, as long as I could ban Man United fans. It's a win-win situation. <highfive>
"Yellow, the most noticed of all colors, especially the bright lemon version, is extremely reflective. Excessive exposure to this color over-stimulates the eyes, causing both eye strain and annoyance."
"Studies have shown that babies tend to cry more in yellow bedrooms, more arguments occur in yellow kitchens and more professional entertainers have melt-downs in yellow dressing rooms (Hence the “green” room)."
"While we love the color for its cheerful reminder of the sun,.... it is the hardest color to read on the work computer and should never be a screen background."
Ergo, the BBC are idiots and have handed heaps of license payers' money to other idiots.
The new Facebook timeline isn't my cup of tea either.

Neon, donations wouldn't even make a dent into what would need and would be looking for to run the site.
Damn you Admin 1, you reminded me there was a Facebook and upon checking mine, I was reminded it's Valentine's Day soon. I think I will die a slow death as I had forgotten all about it.

People like changes that makes an improvement but not change that makes things worse . We have enough of this already happening at Chelsea without the BBC mucking in..

It would surely help a little bit though?
For every smiley used, you should hand over 1p to the Admins
If you take a modest yearly wage for Admin2 and I and the hosting charges that we wont go into....At least that.
'Rubix cube on Acid' - Thanks, I'm going to add that to my list of things to do before I die.
Good thing I don't know how to do smileys!
I think the BBC site is beyond awful. I looked at it today and thought my computer had broken! There are no clean lines - pictures pop up randomly and you can't really see where text ends or begins../ It's just HORRIBLE!
The Wonderfully Sweet Little Pea (U6951)
Thanks to you I looked, I now have a headache, if as I suspect there is long term retina damage I will be taking legal action against both you and ja606 for publishing the link.

video on the new site, they've got some decent features but got the look and colour schemes very wrong!
It must be the only website that can be seen from space !
