Anyway none of this is meant to defend Enzo, he's either racist or monumentally stupid
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Being a footballer (generalisation) it'll be the latter...this blow over, & he needs to sort his shat out playing wise this season to make amands
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can't be this naive mate

this needs to be nipped in the bud,

chelsea discipline him to the highest order plus some form of behavior correction course.

6 match ban

public video apology from enzo and a donation to kick it out

then he has to grovel to his teammates.

i doubt very much hes a true racist, but i dont know him, wasnt just him singing the song either.

I don't believe Terry did anything wrong. And in a Chelsea team full of black players who all loved him and with Drogba standing near to him as I recall I don't think for one second Terry shouted out "you black c*nt".
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Even Terry admitted he said black cnuut

The only dispute was the reason he said it and even thee judge who let him off said his excuse was strange

Honestly, I just think in 2011 players we're going lot more tribal on the idea of racism. They just said "It's everywhere" so back your team mate.

I think if the same incident happened now Cole and Drogba would aft very differently
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If that's true then it must have been in his defence where he said something like I didn't say black c*nt. Honestly can't imagine any scenario where JT outright called anyone a black c*nt. That isn't what he's about and he would have been surrounded by black Chelsea players so to my mind it's preposterous to think JT would have shouted that out.

Anything is possible with JT. As much as I loved him as a footballer he dragged the club down on so many occasions.

Tu Meke I remember the other day you were calling for Southgate to start the same team in the Final and just keep the likes of Palmer and Watkins as super subs to stick on late in the game if needed. Do you still believe that was the right call ?

And yet not one black Chelsea player has ever come out with any kind of accusation or even an insinuation that JT was or is a racist.

I don’t think JT treats black people or other races badly in general. So I wouldn’t classify him as a racist person.

But it’s possible that in that one particular moment to Anton he said something he shouldn’t have, in the heat of the moment.

If so, that’s not good and shouldn’t be defended, but doesn’t mean he’s overall a racist human being.

As I recall black players at Chelsea have only ever come out in JT's defence.

I said I could see a case for Palmer starting ahead of foden. But I doubt it would have made much of a difference. Palmer did well as a sub, as expected.

Well Roman isn't paying their wages anymore and absolutely no black players has ever accused JT of racism of any kind.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R_v_Terry#:~:text=R%20v%20John%20Terry%20was,Rangers%20on%2023%20October%202011.

The court established that neither Ferdinand nor anyone else had heard Terry's words, but Terry himself admitted that he had directed the words "f***ing bl**k c**t" and "f*cking kn*bhead" at Ferdinand, which was affirmed by two expert lip readers from video evidence.

Terry maintained that he used the words as a form of sarcasm and that he was questioning what he thought had been an allegation of racism from Ferdinand; neither lip reader was able to "identify whether the statement was made as a question or in what type of voice it was said."

Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle concluded that while there was no doubt Terry had uttered those words in anger, "it is impossible to be sure exactly what were the words spoken by [Terry] at the relevant time" and that there was a lack of evidence to prove beyond a doubt that Terry had used them as an insult instead of "a challenge to what he believed had been said to him."

The court therefore found Terry not guilty.

We were crap in the final so I assume you're saying we'd have been crap no matter who started. Despite the fact that we had some fantastic and fresh attacking players ready to start instead of the knackered, out of form players Southgate insisted on starting.

I still can’t believe he went the entire tournament without playing a LW, apart from Gordon for 5 mins. Even though it was painfully obvious we were missing a threat on that side, in every game.

All he had to do to get the balance right was play Bellingham as an 8 and then start Gordon on the left and Foden in the middle t

Problem is JT clearly did it (and I wished he’d have just admitted it and said sorry) but that was clearly heat of the moment in anger, which is still bad and inexcusable but I mean that’s what it was

Enzo’s literally singing his fackin heart out in that song then laughing about it and live streamed it ffs

posted on 17/7/24

We’ve got 7 French black players and a bunch of other black players

I highly doubt Enzo is going to be forgiven so it’ll complete mess our squad harmony up

Even if he apologized, again it’s not like it’s a heat of a moment thing where he said it to a player or team mate, he’s literally sang a god damn song about it

Well yeah, Netherlands first half aside, we didn't play well at all. Don't think it was a matter of freshness (I was calling for kane to be dropped). The way Southgate plays just doesn't suit attacking play, so naturally the attackers will look inhibited.

He's clearly wedded to players he trusts. He was never going to change the lineup for a final.

The thing I don’t understand is why it was seen as the safe option to leave the team unchanged.

If you have loads of evidence suggesting one thing, sure the safe option is to do anything other than that
