MANAGEMENT DECISION

Think Martinez turned down the Liverpool job as it comes with alot of pressure and expectation. Even though they haven't been great recently it doesn't change the fact Liverpool are along with Man utd the biggest club in the country.

Everton are a big club too but not one expected to regularly win trophies etc. Martinez is a smart guy and taking his career slowly. I really like him and hope he ends up as the next Arsenal manager once Wenger decides to pack up. He realised the jump from Wigan to Liverpool could have been a huge risk for his career.

This is a silly article.

Martinez is a very good manager, he's just not at the level of Liverpool, yet maybe.

One thing is for certain, if he turns out to be a top, top manager, he'll be looking for a big club.

Villa are a big club though, it's hard to argue differently. Are they bigger than Everton? Not a lot in it for me.

I have not said anything about villa or how 'big' a club is.

You will find I made a some reasoned points on what has happened and that people will never know.

You jumped on the "big club" line, next it will be trophies each manager has won at their respective club. So far it is pretty even

To be fair, I can't see how Martinez even considered trophy's, his choice of team wouldn't bear that out, would it.

Or did he just take the first job that he thought he could handle?

For me it's all work out fine all round. I wanted Rodgers to take the Liverpool job and was infuriated when we almost missed out with FSG dithering over who they wanted in.

Brendan and Roberto have had their ups and downs at other clubs but there's little argument that both influence their teams to play the game the way it should be.

Both forward thinking managers at clubs needing the very same. It's all good guys!

BTW for what it's worth I think FSG wanted to interview both managers at the time but when it became clear BR wouldn't have any truck with that idea they went for BR.

Is martinez that good?? Was poor with wigan and here is something most people ignore. W Brom had lukaku last season and were riding high in the league, this season without tgey gave fallen back.

Everton are unlikely to keep lukaku next season while delfonsou and barry are also loans, everton havent got the money to replace those players. If everton finish 5th then imo next season when their loan players are rtnd(esp lukaku & delafonsou) they will fall down the league...they simply dont have the squad for european and prem competitions.

If i was an evertonian id be a little bit quiet and remember w brom.

I believe Rodgers was asked first when he turned down an interview before we turned to Martinez. When Rodgers changed his mind we promptly forgot about Bobby.

Are West Brom the same as Everton?

No, they are not. We have a totally different manager and squad. what do you define as riding high in the league for West Brom?

Lukaku is not our main source of gaols, we dont rely on him and in fact we share them about nicely due to the way we play
