Arthur training videos are being prepared right now
We need to get back to the 433 after the wc with Diaz, Firmino and Salah. This 442 or the 41212 diamond doesn't work. The width in the diamond formation needs to come from the fullbacks but you need athletic fullbacks for that. We have only Robbo who can do that which is very easy to defend.
Caicedo is a key transfer target in January. Play Hendo in the 6 role until the summer and get a dm in the summer to replace Fabinho.
I thought it was laziness earlier in the season as well but the fact it happens every week now indicates it is
a deeper issue.
It looks like they are trying to me but physically our players just seem incapable of matching our opponents.

I agree.
The players legs have gone, or certainly those in midfield . Their exertions physically and mentally last season have taken their toll. The midfield simply can't play at the same intensity and tempo. Marry that to tactics which are designed to press.with energy and speed and you end up in mid table. The one hope.i have is that the world cup helps some of them get some rest, or get into better physical and mental shape.
This is looking like a long hard season. Our owners need to step up and help the club bring in a couple in January. Failure to do so would be a deriliction in my book.
For sure we need reinforcements in January, that's not debatable I think. As I mentioned the day before yesterday, we are last to every ball, our opponents always quicker and we can't just react in time to keep up with them. Lose the ball up the field and immediately get countered as our players take a couple of seconds to adjust to anything. The press is therefore easy to play around. We need the workman midfield back IMO, with new personel.

One of many bad subs Klopp has made this season, he's undeniably played his part in the mess we find ourselves, but it's a minor issue in the grand scheme of things.
I do agree with his post match comments about us being unable to control games though. Our whole system is built around being high tempo and high intensity yet we now get outrun by our opponents almost every week. Completely impossible to be winning matches regularly when that is happening, more so with our system than any.
A tired and aged squad really looks to be taking its toll. Are these players still physically capable of doing it? I'm starting to think they can't and that's it for them to be honest. It's going to require some big investment to get the players who can.
In the meantime, we need to adapt and change to what we have as a stopgap.Klopp said he realised after the Brighton game we had to scrap 4-3-3.
He may need to go further and rip up the whole system to be honest, at least temporarily.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've basically gone back to pre VVD/Allison Liverpool. Need to start again perhaps.
I'd suggest we go back to having players stay further back and start using more counterattack again. Start getting clean sheets and slim wins. We did this well in Klopp's first couple of years or so. We were a swashbuckling counter attack team, but never solid in defence until we signed Robbo and VVD.
This would work well at this time because teams will not be afraid to attack us anymore, they'll come at us and we can use Nunez, Diaz, Salah, Elliot to pick them off.
43.6% - LFC have the lowest tackle success rate in the entire Premier League this season.
A Klopp Team - outrun, out sprinted, out tackled that is our issue. This has all to do with a midfield of Fabinho, Elliott and Trent as the right back.
Thiago was the only one who was making tackles last night.
People always complained about Gini, but the guy covered 10-12km every game.
Elliott shouldn't be nowhere the first 11. He is a liability off the ball. The running stats of him off the ball is a disgrace. Trent is another who is not good enough defensively. Trent should only play as a right back if we have the midfield to protect him.
I always bring Bernardo Silva as an example of a player who is good on the ball but his workrate is excellent.
After Manchester City's latest victory over local rivals Manchester United , it was revealed that Bernardo Silva covered a staggering 25.3 kilometres (15.7 miles) across both derby games in the Premier League.
FSG are the culprits in this. They had a few transfer windows to strengthen this midfield and their solutions were youth players like Carvalho and Elliott. We need midfielders in the age bracket of 20-25. Get rid of the injury prone players.
This is now a management issue. Whatever they are being coached is not working. The changes we have made where we have become less reliant on pressing and now incorporating a number 9 has failed miserably.
We keep changing the formation which is a sign of desperation. Klopp is ridiculously slow at making changes and when he does they don't make sense. Yesterday he had to take Gomez off but instead we watched him play horrendously for the full 90.
Elliott lost the ball every 2.8 touches, failed to complete 100% of his crosses and lost 80% of his duels, while also being dribbled past once and failing to attempt a single dribble before he was hooked by Klopp in the 60th minute.
You can't rely on a player with those stats. His pressing, is non existent, can't tackle and doesn't track back.
Elliott was shocking but has been massively overplayed this season because of the lack of the depth in midfield.
The root cause to all our issues is lack of investment, particularly in that area.
I have to admit the most puzzling bit of it all is Fabinho.
Almost overnight his performance level has dropped from one of the worlds top 5 midfielders into looking like a championship player. A staggering decline so big it is incomprehensible.
Sangare is available for 25m in January and played well in both games against Arsenal. I wasn't a big fan of him but the decline of Fabinho has changed my mind.
50m for Caicedo and we have sorted the midfield out.
We can't fix the issues with a system change or on the training ground. The players are the problem at this moment of time.
FSG really need to splash the money.

It's odd because Nunez can clearly press as well, probably would be one of our best pressers if trained to do it given his speed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Issue is that Bobby can't press and the midfield has no legs to press which is why we tried to become this possession based team but with b-tec players. Salah was told that he is a creative player now and we lost all the impetus. We basically need this world cup preseason ASAP

Don't know if this is genuine but even James Pearce is turning on FSG
"Jurgen Klopp admitted in August he’d ideally like to take “more risks” in the market, the owners’ failure to invest sufficiently in the squad is hurting Liverpool. It needed freshening up to a greater degree to avoid things going stale.
Maybe FSG has had it too good for too long, overly reliant on Klopp’s ability to balance the books and drain every last drop out of the talent at his disposal. Complacency has set in."
[James Pearce]
He even criticised Klopp a bit
💬 @JamesPearceLFC: Jurgen Klopp should have been backed more but he’s not immune to criticism himself. There are squad players who have contributed nothing so far this season who really should have been moved on last summer. He wasn’t ruthless enough.
FSG Pearce will be losing his pre match pork pie if not careful.

Jones was shocking, VVD pathetic for their second can't believe he switched off like that then just did some statue esque defending, embarrassing as bad as Gomez was that was far worse imo.
