2 goals scored today not by Salah. Good to get goals from someone else, as we are going to need the like of Gakpo and Jota to step up now and again.

Someone said the other day that with our firepower, we can stay in games and i agree 100%. With Chelsea we’ve got the best from 5/6 in the league with the depth both teams have, just going to depend on who can be better defensively, which is why we need Konate back ASAP. Makes such a difference on that right side and dominates it.

It’s why we need another CB. Gomez is fine but Konate spends too much time out of the team for us not to have a Matip in the squad.

He’s been generally poor this season, that’s why he gets criticised.

I love Robbo, but we’ve definitely looked better this season with Tsimikas out there instead of him. So time to upgrade now.

He’s been way below his own standards for a while now, it’s pretty obvious he’s on a downward spiral. I just think today was a kind of confirmation for many.

yeah it happens, some players just drop off a cliff instantly. Maybe hes one, hes looking it he could be one, no shame in it. Hes been outstanding for the years hes been here. I still think hes got a role with us for sure but maybe its time to accept that role might be back up lb or move on? if its the case hes dropped off physically.

funny what the season throws up, start was urgency for dm, grav steps up. but lb becomes an issue. contracts havent helped, konates injury has highlighted cb issue for sure esp if hes not trusting quansah, hes young so no shame in that either.

Slot serving his ban against Southampton, nice.

Maybe it’s just mental gymnastics because we know he’s off but I must say I’m not overly bothered about Trent walking. Annoyed that he’s going on a free but I think he can be replaced with a traditional right back and I think it could give us better balance defensively.

His attitude today was poor and it’s something he’s always been prone to.

Wouldn't say Robbo has dropped off a cliff. He started slow due to missing pre-season and has been hit and miss since.

Dropping off a cliff is what we see from Fabinho a couple of seasons ago. Can’t compare that at all with Robbo, he’s just been out of form I think.

I don't care about Trent leaving and would rather have a fullback who can defend. A good defensive fullback stops the cross for the Fulham first goal. Quansah isn't good either. I want guys at the back who enjoy defending like Konate. Quansah is out of his depth too.
When was the last time we bought defenders?

Trent should have stopped the cross ffs. Both goals conceded were the result of opposition players running down our right hand side.

I don’t think he’s dropped off a cliff, it’s been a gradual decline imo. He missed a lot of games last season, but the signs were there. He always played at such a high intensity that it was always going to catch up with him.

Age waits for no man.

Sadly no defence for Robbo. That was just stupid. He is on his last legs. We do need to look for a new left back in the summer.

Having said that I was more annoyed with Trent. He was actually a disgrace today. Only player in the red shirt who did not give his all. Every player ran the extra mile but he left others to get him out of a hole when he could not be bothered to sprint.

Fulham fully exposed him today and that was before the red card.

Robertson always seems to panic recently and needs to get it out his system quickly, because he’s letting us down with all the mistakes.

Trent as kash said, was absolutely woeful in his work rate today. Just because you’re besties with Bellingham, who thinks he’s the main character, doesn’t mean you can let your head turn and think you can spray 60 yard passes and get away with it. No you work your b*llocks off for the team, especially with 10 men.

Trent doing my head in recently, thinks he’s made it, but no, you stay grounded and do your best every time you put on that red shirt.

trents quality on the ball is insane though, theres no1 out there can do what he does to the level and consistency he does it.

But yeah hes playing like he believes hes better than he is or too good to do the dirty work. Watch his early games with us and the effort defensively was there, had some top defensive games vs Neymar, Sane etc his attacking qualities hadnt even been shown at that point. So its not a question of he can't do it. Showed it in games this season too that when hes willing he can actually defend well enough.

Anyway transfers aside, Slots biggest task at hand is how we approach and start games. Said it before he even took control of a session just as much and still stand by it. Used to think in the end Klopp let them get away with it because they were his own family basically and could do know wrong with far too much credit built up. But how this group so often start games is a massive concern and has been for years now.
