Think maybe it’ll be a bench of youngsters with a few of those that start the most left at home. It’s the quarter finals and I doubt Slot would throw away a decent opportunity of a trophy in his first season.

We'll rotate but still put out a team that can beat Southampton.

Not read it yet but ESPN reported VAR review apparently saying Robbo shouldn't have been sent off, but Pereira should have

Yeah Ref Watch Gallagher said same thing that it should not have been a red. The ball was going away from the goal he still had to get past VVD which is impossible.

Yesterday I said it was a red but that was more down to the commentary and then Slot and VVD not making a big deal of it.

Match of the day said that it should not have been a red either.

Why didn't we make a big deal out of it?

We got feked by the ref again.

Guess it depends if we have someone lined up for January, which I have a feeling we do. I’d be very disappointed if we didn’t, considering Slot couldn’t have spelt it out any more clearly that he doesn’t rate Endo whatsoever, and Grav will burn out at some point if we keep playing him so much.

I always go into Jan windows doubting we'll do business but unless Zubi has done a 180 (which I believe the Times reported he has) then I don't see us signing a CM.

This might just be recency bias but if we sign anyone then I think it'll be a defender. Either a LB or a CB who is comfortable at LB.

Theres still plenty of room for change without needing to play the big hitters.

We could have endo mccallister (well rested due to ban)and elliot in the middle with chiesa nunez (for a goal hopefully) and gakpo up top. Thats still very strong whilst resting our main men. Id have normally said start jota for minutes but he looked razor sharp other day when he came on so why risk him.

At the backs the issue as we dont have many options. Gomez quansah and probs vvd have to play. He maybe brings a youngster in at 1 of the full back roles.

Feels wrong to sack off a cup but we need to priortise here. This isnt a normal season. Its a 1 off chance where city have fell off a cliff. We cannot take silly risks. I'll be annoyed of any of our big hitters (van dijk aside) are risked.
