Do you know what the problem is here?
A lot of these people don't want to see him earn good money, it's petty jealousy, if a road sweeper was convicted of this offence no one would give a toss about him returning to work

There will always be people wrongly convicted no matter how few. Now I don't know if his belief in his innocence is justified or not, but I believe he should be allowed to play football again.

He is allowed.

besides, it's not nee you've got to convince - it's Sheff Utd and Oldham fans, sponsors, and several charities.
The whole 'he's not allowed' thing comes down to people not understanding that a convicted rapist with so sign of regret for his actions is not welcome.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you think that people signing the petitions is limited to Oldham and Sheffielf Utd fans then you are a fool. It is highly likely that a lot of the people signing the Oldham petition are the same people who signed the previous one and could be from anywhere within the country.
People who are offended by something are usually a lot more vocal than those who aren't, which is what we are seeing with this current campaign. Unfortunately, we live in a country where, in most cases, only those people are heard.

I've already debated this point on this thread. Yes there are probably other concerned groups etc.
Start a petition to get him signed for your club.
Everyone saying 'he should be allowed' go start a petition or facebook group and try changing public opinion.. cos there's no law stopping him, certainly not from working.

I don't believe he is innocent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What we think in the grand scheme of things is irrelevant but HE believes he is innocent so it makes sense to appeal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has been convicted and been refused leave to appeal. The case is being reviewed but I doubt very much the conviction will be over turned.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Watch this space. It will be overturned 100%

I don't want him to sign for Wolves as I don't think he is good enough and I wouldn't want the media circus (which I'd be more worried about than the player).
If someone started a petition to get him playing, they would probably get more abuse from the PC brigade and media than Ched Evans, accused of approving of rape etc. People who campaign like this usually think they are being liberal, but they are actually more dismissive of other peoples opinions than anyone.

Being concerned that a convicted rapist is showing no remorse is not being politically correct, it's about having morals,.common decency, respect for women.
This debate is making me sad.
You have no point other than apparently thinking he's alright, and been hard done by. I'll never agree, short of his conviction being overturned.
