Sick of black people in football feeling sorry for themselves. There is no racism in English football, certainly at boardroom level. I watched an episode of football's greatest, it was about Sol Campbell. All he did was whine and biiitch saying he was the best CB in England and was not England captain simply because he was black. I mean to black people really have that big a chip on their shoulder?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Please don't use him as a representation of black people. He's an embarrassment and certainly not the norm.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
My comment is more in reference to black footballers and not black people in general. I would imagine black people would be embarrassed by his comments, as well fhis whole lack of black manager nonsense and the society of black lawyers piping up every now and again because some white footballer didn't want a flake in his ice cream.

English footballs worst problem is the youth setup. It's based on winning games. Bigger players, or those with exceptional physical attributes excel at a young age.

Asian kids, generally, are smaller.

Add yo that, education and good results are everything.

I was joking about fat white sprinters,pointing out that there were none,and this is not down to racism and that applies to black managers,imo................
=====================================================
Yes, I was joking, too, but there is a serious point behind it. There is a subjectivity involved in giving somebody a job, or giving them a second chance, that is not involved in a sprint race, so it's irrelevant as a parallel, (even as a facetious one).

The fact that the Rooney rule worked in America, and that some of the black managers who came through have been successful, is a closer parallel.

Now if it worked, what possible reason could we have for not wanting to try it here?

=====================================================
and what about the few Asian and muslim players/managers?
=====================================================
Yes, that's been raised too.

This is the level at which it works:
The average height of company CEOs is much taller than the workforce average, too. But there is no rational reason why a tall person would make a better CEO than a short person, and yet I doubt if anybody has ever sat around a boardroom and said: "We're not having him, he's a shortass".

There is something psychologically weird going on.Now if the shortasses ever got together and complained about this, I would agree with them that they had a point, because the stats overwhelmingly support their point, so it's a rational case.

I would even lend them a crate to stand on.

Totally agree and yes a small percentage of them do Definetly have a large chip on their shoulder. It's ridiculous that this is even an issue and people are actually suggesting it's because of racism that black people don't get employed can you imagine if this was the other way round and everyone was saying " we need to employ more White guys" there would be public outcry of racism so why is this different? I actually think the likes of Sol Campbell and Barnes are racist for bringing this up. This won't be a big issue though will it because they are black. Before anyone asks im half turkish Cypriot so have foreign blood in me so I'm not completely white as such.

Ridiculous. What if the black man was better, but never got a chance?

That's the whole point of this.

I really don't like the Society of Black Lawyers , I think they are n0bheads.

I'm only supporting this argument because I really don't see what possible objection we can have to a policy that's been successful in America, and doesn't even force anybody to appoint somebody they don't want to.

Why would a decent black manager not get a chance?

Chairmen,fans and clubs want success,and skin tone is irrelevant.

If you are at the wum,ignore me.

We should also have more gay and disabled managers in the pre. It's a disgrace

I heard the QPR manager the other day saying that there is still racism in football and that people like him very seldom get the rewards they deserve because they are black. Nothing to do with them just not being good enough managers then. More than likely he is going to be relieved of his duties when he takes QPR down and we all know the racism card will be played, despite the fact his own boss is black, too. In any other job this wouldn't be an issue but for some reason in football it still is.

==========================================================
Yes, companies want economic success, too, yet they are clearly not choosing as many shortass CEOs as tall CEOs, which would be ok for basketball, but has nothing to do with finance.

Also, it used to be true that black players didn't get a chance, until the glass-ceiling was broken (there was a theory that they were 'lazy'.

But clubs wanted to be successful, then, too.....why would they turn down the chance to be successful?
But it wasn't a meritocracy, and they did.

Not saying they wouldn't. But, looking at all the black players in the Premiership, for decades, and the lack of representation in management.... I think it's fair to ask.

Personally, the best man for the job is an easy comment to make... But unless all are given a fair chance, how can that question be truly answered.

The next generation will be irrelevant. There will be more foreign ceo's (translation = managers) running English club's

Won't be irrelevant then
