Ivan Rodgers was pro- EU, so I can see why he was removed.......or, rep!aced.
Keep banging that elitist Remain drum though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was (along with Lord Harris) the most important civil servant the government had at their disposal.
His resignation does little to assist the UK.
When he set out the uncomfortable truth, that the government face an nearly impossible task, he was labeled (by the ignorant) as being pessimistic.
A cull of the UK's most experienced diplomats is hardly the best way to prepare for the most complex negotiation the UK has ever faced.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rather arrogant to label critic's of Sir Ivan as arrogant....as the polls and economists have revealed, experts get it wrong.
Cameron tried to get a better deal with the Eu, and what did he get, with all the remain experts behind him?
Diddly squat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ignorant is being kind.
To date, economic forecasts have been spot on.
Although there are some who don't care about how much money they will have, and only care about leaving. Thankfully there are many who do.

It is extremely likely, many others will follow suit (step down). If only to protect political longevity.

"I hope you will continue to challenge ill-founded arguments and muddled thinking and that you will never be afraid to speak the truth to those in power. I hope that you will support each other in those difficult moments where you have to deliver messages that are disagreeable to those who need to hear them."

Sounding like he was on the other side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Having represented the UK in Europe for some years pretty obvious where his political persuasion lies. But that's hardly the point.
His experience, and expertise in guiding the government was undermined and disregarded.
Number ten (as per his letter) didn't even set out their brexit strategy to him. Their chief negotiator, and most qualified diplomat.

Its insulting that there are 'democrats' threatening riots and civil war if they don't get what they want.
