Was reading something last night about someones concern with the rise of fascism and how Brexit has been the catalyst.
Ironically, I always thought the EU was a fascist union.
Trying to fathom why anyone (mindful of the UK's precarious position) would want the EU to 'fail' anytime soon. Especially given the UK will cease to be a member.
Putting it in simple terms, negotiating a FTA with one bloc, or, 27 individual trade agreements. Which do you suppose would be easier/quicker, and be the least damaging to the UK's interests?

Then you clearly have no idea what fascism is.

I could use the same sentence and replace UK with EU.

I don't think you understand the significance of the EU failing.
While extremely unlikely – more chance of Eurozone reforms, the majority of UK commerce is interconnected to the EU.
If the EU collapses it will directly affect the UK too. Whether we are an EU member or not.

That does not refute my point unfortunately. What would be least damaging to the EU is retaining free trade with the UK.
Ironically, I always thought the EU was a fascist union.

What?!
Fascist regimes being well known for its members to hold opposing views, hold different currencies, different social and legal outlooks...
The EU is a fascist organisation.

Go on then Hector
I'll give you the same challenge - Give me your definition of fascism.
I know what fascism is, you bandy the phrase about, you define it, give us a laugh.

Circa 2% of the EU GDP??
The UK would stand to lose considerably more as our ecomony is reliant on the success of the EU's.

Aye okay then, Metro the drama queen.
Don't answer a question with a question
It's not proper - lets keep this a mature debate.
I'll be happy to give my thoughts on fascism but you've been asked on a public forum - don't leave us waiting.
Sizzle challenged your definition of fascism, you swerved.
I'll come back in 30 minutes. Hopefully, you'll have provided an answer.
If i was to give my view of fascism, it would be to hold extremist introvert views and an obvious xenophobic outlook.
Basically nationalism on steroids that will adopt policies that could be defined as xenophobic and racist to rigidly maintain one and disavow other cultures.
Maybe as it was Metro who deemed the EU as “fascist union” you could support this view with example(s)?
In any event, it’s somewhat ironic deeming the EU as a “fascist union” when the UK are now looking to forge trading relationships with the likes of China and the Saudis. Who’s human rights history has been atrocious.
There is no way the EU is a fascist union as it was formed to ensure the fascism that rose from ardent nationalism was never repeated.
Thereby giving the european bloc one identity - with the freedom of movement.
Metro doesn't have a clue what crap he doles out, utterly moronic to label the EU a fascist union.
IMO fascism has many facets but when considering a political ideology, people should look a bit closer to home.
Some of the recent Tory proposals have demonstrated an obsessive preoccupation with nationalism.
Only this week Amber Rudd set out details that, (post Brexit) EU nationals will have to carry ID cards. Basically tagging or ‘branding’ them.
What next, a star on the doors of their homes?
Amber Rudd is a mouthpiece for someone, there's no way she would continually come out with ridiculous ideas out of step with progressive integration.
So Metro, floor is yours, why is the EU a "fascist Union" according to you?
