Looks like Russia might be struggling with its military objectives, and have been unexpected by the scale of the Ukrainian resistance.
May well be disinformation, as right now a lot of unreliable information is flying around.
It will be good if true though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't want to post it earlier as I thought it might be wishful thinking, but I was thinking this too.
Now to get people's backs up... we need to give Putin a face saving solution... no, no, no, I'm not on Putin's side, I don't think he is right in invading, but he ain't going to go without something.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disagree entirely.
He needs putting back in his box, unceremoniously. There should be no compromise now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with this, or in a few years he will be at it again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tried that after WW1, it didn't work. WW2 a different approach was given and it worked.
Any deal works best when both parties feel they gained at the table.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How will Ukraine gain via compromise?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No more threat from Russia.
We all have a sneaky feeling Putin wants Ukraine in Russia, BUT he has repeatedly said it to do with NATO and separatists. Use the NATO part as the bargaining chip. Ukraine will not join NATO unless it has Russian approval. This way Putin will get something publicly and he can move the fool out of Ukraine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What?
The Ukraine is an independent country and should be free to join whatever defensive faction it likes, NATO especially.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Should be able to... yeah, but that isn't the way of the world is it? You should be able to walk through downtown Rio at night with jewelry on. Chances are you won't come out with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That has to be up there with one of the most ludicrous comparisons I’ve ever read.
The perpetrator if caught would be banged up in all likelihood.
Nothing like invading a free country of innocent people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you say so. I see it as what is right Vs what is most likely.
And get caught? π€£π€£π€£
Those innocent people are going to get slaughter with your approach.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You should send your posts to the Kremlin and embolden them.

Huge moral and military call, Ging.
Would we join up to fight or send sons, daughters, dads, or mates off?...that is what could escalate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I would. Certainly putting a defensive ring around the two regions that he’s decided to “recognise” as free states.
All too late now. He’ll take the`Ukraine and it will become a war of terrorism and attrition. The majority of the West will sit back and say “ach it’s not that bad< the price of oil has dropped”.
Fwcking pathetic as I said.
And in a few years time he’ll either have his forces withdraw in ignominy or be prepared to start on a new front.

Ludicrous..
Remove democracy from the Ukrainian people?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isn't removing democracy,FFS. It's one agreement to gain peace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is removing democracy and bowing down to an aggressive autocrat. He will be back as soon as Ukraine start completing chapters for EU ascent because he knows that he can get what he wants.
Ukraine is a free and independent, democratic country and should be allowed to remain that way, their people FOUGHT for the right to self determination and it's not for the West to take it away from them when we have ALREADY refused to back them on other compromises, and are now letting them down with regards to standing agreements over defence for their Denuclearisation.
Putin wouldn't be in there if we hadnt made these agreements to get those bombs off his doorstep.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And Putin is a nutter. His argument about NATO missiles on the doorstep is valid to a degree, a paranoid degree admittedly, but a degree.
Giving him assurances for the sake of peace will ensure the least amount of bloodshed. And that is the most important point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He doesn't have a right to deny Ukrainians membership of NATO. It's a mutual defence pact...
Think about that, you are saying that to appease and aggressor we should make sure his neighbour doesn't have support?!?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No the agreement is, no NATO, no Russian invasion.

There is no agreement for goodness sakes.

“Giving him assurance”?
We should be ensuring him an untimely assassination. The world does not need maniacs like Putin who decide that as their popularity starts to wane along with their brain cells, their best response is to invade a free country of 41 million people to “save it from Nazism”.
The man is a maniac. Don’t start thinking he’s some clever strategist ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But the world DOES have this maniac.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The we need to rid ourselves of him. Not appease him.
“Here comes the playground bully so all you children make way and give him your dinner money so as to avoid being beaten up”
ffs. Unbelievable.

UK army is not even half he size of Ukraine 200 k with 800k reserve, so that is reality for those advocating UK intervention.
Germany will not send troops in after WW2 in the region, nor will France or the EU or UN, which leaves America...
Then the likes of Eastern Europe NATO states gets dragged in and we have WW3.
It is horrible, but could be worse if the Americans go in, with us as usual and no other cantπ€£

pretty much what america and britain have done
armed them, and left them to it against the russian army
they knew putin would eventually have enough of the situation in ukraine, esp donbass
this has been coming for years
ask this question..how much of a fack do the american and british government really give about the ukrainians ?

Looks like Russia might be struggling with its military objectives, and have been unexpected by the scale of the Ukrainian resistance.
May well be disinformation, as right now a lot of unreliable information is flying around.
It will be good if true though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't want to post it earlier as I thought it might be wishful thinking, but I was thinking this too.
Now to get people's backs up... we need to give Putin a face saving solution... no, no, no, I'm not on Putin's side, I don't think he is right in invading, but he ain't going to go without something.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disagree entirely.
He needs putting back in his box, unceremoniously. There should be no compromise now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with this, or in a few years he will be at it again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tried that after WW1, it didn't work. WW2 a different approach was given and it worked.
Any deal works best when both parties feel they gained at the table.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How will Ukraine gain via compromise?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No more threat from Russia.
We all have a sneaky feeling Putin wants Ukraine in Russia, BUT he has repeatedly said it to do with NATO and separatists. Use the NATO part as the bargaining chip. Ukraine will not join NATO unless it has Russian approval. This way Putin will get something publicly and he can move the fool out of Ukraine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What?
The Ukraine is an independent country and should be free to join whatever defensive faction it likes, NATO especially.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Should be able to... yeah, but that isn't the way of the world is it? You should be able to walk through downtown Rio at night with jewelry on. Chances are you won't come out with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That has to be up there with one of the most ludicrous comparisons I’ve ever read.
The perpetrator if caught would be banged up in all likelihood.
Nothing like invading a free country of innocent people.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you say so. I see it as what is right Vs what is most likely.
And get caught? π€£π€£π€£
Those innocent people are going to get slaughter with your approach.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You should send your posts to the Kremlin and embolden them.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no agreement for goodness sakes.

It is horrible, but could be worse if the Americans go in, with us as usual and no other cantπ€£

armed them, and left them to it against the russian army
they knew putin would eventually have enough of the situation in ukraine, esp donbass
this has been coming for years
ask this question..how much of a fack do the american and british government really give about the ukrainians ?
