I’ve already come to terms with us being an anti foreigner country a long time ago.

Whilst I'm all for tougher sanctions for people smugglers, the Patel announcement is yet another inhumane example of the Gov making it as hard as possible for those fleeing persecution/harm to claim asylum in the UK.

Whilst the Gov upscales its arms sales to the likes of Saudi Arabia, and slashes humanitarian aid to Yemen, if/when those impacted by the aforementioned conflict seek asylum in the UK, will now be deemed illegal if they cannot verify their identity by way of a passport etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that's the problem, the tougher sanctions on people smugglers actually just attempts to tackle a symptom rather than the root cause. It won't deter people smuggling, which will carry on so long as the root cause isn't addressed.

It will appease the right people though and give the illusion of them attempting to solve the problem, despite them likely exacerbating them through other policies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you address asylum seekers and migration?

I oppose selling arms to Saudis and wars in middle, but people will want to get to the UK regardless of such immoral sales or wars....from Africa and Afghanistan and Vietnam and Pakistan where were ate not at war or selling guns.

Would you put a cap on migrants and a sum seekers coming in or just open the doors entirely?

America has millions wanting to enter the States with no war or arms sales to blame, so should Biden do what dems said and let everyone who wants in to come in?

Should we do away with borders?

How many asylum seekers should UK and Ireland take and how many migrants?

Personally, sales of weapons to Saudis is wrong, but jobs depend on that.

Foreign aid has been given to the likes of India which is a top 5 global power so perhaps during covid and recession looming, belts get tightened, but Yemen does seem horrible at present, like much of Africa and middle East, killing and beheading and led by lunatics.

The rest has tried to intervene and help or change regimes all over, but that fails too.

Tell us how many asylum seekers we can expect to take in and people may surprise you.

People fleeing from war or oppression should be safe to come to the UK, travelling through the EU to seek a better life in Blighty.

It sends out a wonderful message to the world.

We have always taken people in whose own nation let them down.

In the past year the UK has pledged £500m to Covax - the worldwide shared vaccine scheme, it has spent $19.37 billion on foreign aid - the third highest amoing worldwide, it is currently ranked third on the World Giving Index, and had the most positive view of immigration in Europe in YouGov's Globalism Survey.

Hate foreigners apparently, go figure

We need to act and act tough against activist lawyers using the law to prevent so called "illegal" deportations.
We need a two tier immigration system, one for genuine immigration cases and one for illegal people that, regardless of what the UN, Red Cross and all the other legaliese dogooders say, illegally cross the channel.
Apparently its wrong to want to send these illegal people to Ascension island, so Gibraltar and the isle of Man will do, get them off mainland and away from Tory constituencies.

Ah thanks, thought there had been a natural incident. I was going to say disaster but already knew about Bolsonaro and his attitude re: C19.
