'an honest pragmatic character'

That's how I saw Rowett

Regardless who comes in it is going to be tough. If we can cash in properly on Vydra and offload some high earners then the new manager may have some flexibility in the transfer market.

We don't want McCarthy we want someone on the way up, not a has been. I'm thinking more Dean Smith now or Warburton, both produce good football, I can't stand any more Rowettball.

Take your point about finances, Bush, but he's just about managed to keep them in the division and hardly flirted with the playoffs. Only if the expectation was relegation, has he overachieved.
Public vote with their feet - have you looked at Ipswich's attendances recently ?

You'd have to sat though that Ipswich aren't exactly an ambitious club and the low attendances are most likely due to expectation after they haven't spent any money in years

Nothing wrong with his football at Wolves or Sunderland when he had them flying, when he could actually buy players

I'm always a little wary of ex Brentford managers

Didn't Warburton fall out with the board because he had no or little say in the players they bought, look how well he's done since he has had a say

I'm only guessing but presuming Smith is in the same boat so based on that if we were looking to recruit from Brentford then the guy making transfer decisions would be my target and not the manager

All guess work and assumptions though

I feel genuinely sorry for you guy's.

It gets worse before it gets better unfortunately.

Bringing in O'Neil would really vex Notts fans. I think it's perhaps unfair to judge his Irish side and how they play, because his selection options are fairly restricted.

As I said yesterday - whereas I think Paul Cook and Dean Smith are good suggestions, I think McCarthy is the most practical option.
However, I think he may return to where his roots are at his beloved Barnsley.
Several absurd suggestions include Chris Coleman, Nigel Clough, Nigel Pearson, Billy Davies and Roy McFarland.

Warburton left Brentford because they changed the structure from the traditional set up where the manager has control to a bit of a new fangled set up where he wouldn’t have had as big a say in things. He decided to resign.

Yeah and that went well for him since.

I certainly wouldn't mind Mick one bit, but the more I read about Dean Smith, the more i think he woukd be the perfect fit for us right now.

Jaap Stam 25/1

He could be our new CH at the same time

Stam belongs to the 'Clement School' of adventurous football.

Warburton bought in young players he could work with.

If you want to watch exciting football where the score can be 3-2 to you,or alternatively 0-3 he is your man.

No top six for at least three or four years though.

Soon you will be selecting 'coaches' from a ever shrinking pool of individuals prepared to tolerate your owner, who could do with a few months work and a payoff.

To be fair Mel hasn’t sacked anyone in over a year which is pretty good for him. I think he might be calming down a bit.

RFB, this is a serious question. Do you have educational issues of any sort? I know that you are something of a figure of fun on here and we take the mickey out what we perceive to be your stupidity, but I would feel bad if there were genuine reasons for it. There was a Forest poster who was frequently a bit incoherent and we used to have a laugh at his expense and tell him to take more water with it and so on, and it turned out he was actually alcoholic. So if it is a similar thing with yourself and you are a bit educationally below the average then just say so. We aren't all bad on here and I am sure we would all say that it is to your credit that you participate at all if you are struggling against disadvantages.

Perhaps Simple Red would be a good moniker for him going forward.
But I wouldn't dream of referring to him as that until the outcome of the forthcoming mental assessment is known.

Can't believe Frank Lampard is being mentioned. He only ever been norff of Watford Gap long enough the play a game of football.

Paul Cook for me. He has a good record in getting promotion and his teams play a high tempo attacking style.

IS RFB Teg from another world?
