Chelsea's academy instead of transfers, might stifle ours academy to first team pipeline a bit too.
Think Vidals is right about us not being privvy to a lot, I don't have much faith in MM's long term planning ability but sometimes a desperate roll of the dice can come up trumps. We've thrown more than a few down recently. Who knows it will be interesting, okay with Avram Grant as a Dof if that were the case, might be more okay with him as manager.
What wide players do they have on Chelsea's books???

Forest, Ramdini are the most stable and dare I say it, best run, most Forest fans have seen for many a year.
Most are optimistic about the coming season, we have a proven manager at this level and a budget to strengthen. Season card sales are up again and there is a real feel good about the place after we have gotten rid of Mel Mo... sorry Fawaz.
Juxtapose that with what you guys are going through and you can see why there is a bit of concern.
It's just a shame that both of our great clubs don't seem to be able to get it together at the same time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zinadine Zidane seems to be doing Ok as a player going straight into a coaching role.
Rameses you might as well do the welcome to Derby thread.
Appointment to announced over the weekend.
I think Lampard has an excellent attitude to football, even playing for Chelea I couldn't hate him. He would certainly attract the right kind of player to the club. He knows what is needed to be successful, he's played midfield in massive games and been very consistent season after season. This counts for a lot in the dressing room. Respect is earned. The difference between him and Pearce for example is that he can express himself verbally rather than just punching. He has more personality than Giggs so I think has the makings of a good one.
I'm not expecting promotion next season so happy to take a punt on Frank.
But if he brings Terry he can feck right off.
Do you have a link Igor.
I’d like this to be over so we can get on with business. If it’s to be Lampard then we need him in to convince our better players to stay. The londer it goes on the braver the circling vultures will get and they’ll start tapping up our prized assets.
I still think Vydra will go but I think Carson and Davies can be persuaded to stay. But not if this goes on too much longer.

I don’t really understand where all this certainty about Lampard comes from. If the bookies are right then it’s absolutely nailed on for Lampard.
Igor says it’s going to be announced over the weekend but this story from the BBC seems less certain.

If you add that to the fact that Griff has been silent on the matter then it has me thinking that it’s not done and dusted.
If it wasn’t for those bookies odds I wouldn’t even have Lampard in the frame. All stories seem to rotate around him being favourite.
I reckon ‘arry and Mel have got together to fabricate a story so the odds on Smith drift out so they can lump on him before Mel appoints the Brentford manager.

Bookies are seldom wrong when they suspend betting. They are not in the gambling business to lose money.
We’ll see Igor.
Lampard has had talks apparently but so have plenty of others. What has happened that has put Lampard away and clear?
I haven’t seen anything other than news outlets reporting his interest and because he’s a big name there’s more interest which is reflected at the bookies which in turn generates more news as he climbs up in the odds. So people start to believe there’s more in it than there really is so they lump on which brings him to odds on which blahdy blahdy blah...etc.
Can anyone point to a genuine reason why he should be such a nailed on favourite?
Rameses.
He's doing BT sport for the CL final tomorrow night, so more Monday/Tuesday than Sat/Sun.....so kick back and enjoy the long weekend ya lucky sods.
Tommo there’s been so much money for Lampard that they can’t afford it if he gets the job so they suspend the betting. They may also assume that some knows something hence all the money for him. Yet it could all be smoke.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
I can understand that. He’s under contract to BT so can’t be appointed yet.
You may have something there mate.
All I can say Rameses is that that if my mate has given me duff information I will have words with him.
