Of course there is a question of fairness. I've seen that stressed on here.
It is easy to agree that no fair solution to the impasse exists, but the argument is that playing BCD is the most fair option with the caveat that only if it can be done safely.
Money talks unfortunately. They'll finish behind closed doors and most likely at neutral grounds too. It's down to the players to perform, ultimately, not the fans.
The TV money is too important to the clubs not to finish it in some way. Apparently Premiership games will be shown free to air as well.

Yeah..... think you're right. I don't really care anymore.... I think Liverpool deserve the title but I dunno if I'll really be that fussed about watching games with no fans/ atmosphere. As a Spurs fan, it might help us... being the biggest bottlers out there, we'll probably look like world beaters with no atmosphere/ pressure and games played in the atmosphere of a library

I've also heard that, to bring atmosphere, both dugouts will be fully mic'd up as well as the referee and officials!
So bored reading about Liverpool winning the title that I really want this season declared void. I don't give a feck about them or what they or any other fans thinks they deserve. Tough luck!
To be fair, this exact argument comes up all the time. Out of the various articles that spiral into argument about the possible solutions, the same people argue/debate the same things over and over again.
I personally don't know what the right thing is, but I firmly disagree with what is "least" or "most" fair. I don't see how one option can be least fair than another. Surely, unfair is unfair.
What people mean by fair or unfair is based on what will give their own team the best possible outcome. Of course, Liverpool fans feel the fairest way to deal with all this is to finish the season so they can be given the title.
But a team in the relegation zone, who maybe lost 3 points away to a fellow relegation candidate in a big game for them, would feel it was unfair that they had to play the reverse fixture with no fans roaring them on. There is clearly a disadvantage to that which could well be the difference between staying up or going down.
There is no right or wrong answer from this. Any decision now will upset someone. For me, they cannot simply go with a decision to please the "right" team/people.
Some have been saying Liverpool should get the title but then don't relegate teams. That is completely inconsistent and not right. It has to be the same for everyone.
I personally don't agree that all the leagues could have different solutions. I include non-league and grass roots in this. Same across the board please.
For the record, I don't give a t0ss what that means for Spurs. If it means we miss out on Europe then so be it.
Why end it early? I don't understand what difference it makes.
When football is able to return then you finish it.
For smaller leagues and teams in danger of going bust it's different, they may well need to stop in order to get out of contracts that would send them broke
Circumstances have changed, the most fair thing about if it were to happen would be the fact that the fixtures were decided randomly by a computer months before the season began so it came down to luck of the draw, similar to a cup draw.
Under the circumstances and weighing it up vs the alternatives is the only way they can go about it, you can't compare this to other seasons, or the first 2/3rds of the season for that matter because the circumstances have changed.
I have a feeling the season might have to be written off.

If finishing this season, is going to mean next season doesn`t finish. What is the point?
I don`t expect either this or next to finish, but that is only my view.
Much bigger things going on than sport at the moment.

The one question I do have which hasn't been raised much is that for all those who are for finishing the season behind closed doors...... Is there not a question of fairness in all this. I mean, for those clubs who still have to go to Anfield, City, Old Trafford, Chelsea Etc surely the task is easier without 50,000+ cheering on the home team vs those who have already played away at particularly tough stadiums and got thumped ?
I actually entirely disagree with this. Footballers (say what you want about them) are still elite, professional athletes. They still have intense training and preparation for matches.
You can't tell me that before games players hear an immense atmosphere and suddenly win or lose the game? What about the team on the pitch? The tactical meetings they've had?? Does that go out of the window because they're away from home with a nasty crowd??
Man United 1 Palace 2
Chelsea 0 Bournemouth 1
Liverpool 2 Atleti 3
Man United 0 Burnley 2
None of those away teams bottled it due to a loud atmosphere.
People seem to be question fairness to past seasons or earlier parts of the seasons, how can you do this? the circumstances are totally different under the circumstances is it fair? is the question need asking.
And regarding the OP, it's the only feasible way that the season can be completed in the foreseeable future where the players are still responsible for their own achievements. The only other way would be to wait until everyone can fill the stands again, which is very unlikely. So this seems the fairest way to end the season.
