Totally agree Diamondlights, I`ve said this from day one, the season can not now be 100% fair and its integrity has been compromised.

But I continue to be shot down by the usual suspects, who are blinded by club loyalties and their agendas.

Finish the season and start the new season on a new timetable. Over the years it could be possible to get it back to normal. Seasons may have to be broken for international tournaments. There would be issues with transfer markets and contracts but they are surmountable.
---------------------
That sounds horrible. It's like choosing long term pain over a short term inconvenience.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would it be that bad? It would feel different for sure but I think we’d get used to it.

Kunta, the absolute fairest way is restart the season WITH crowds as per normal. I know it wont happen but it has to be an option if there is any slight possibility.

—————-
If we go along a thought process of it doesn’t matter when we restart the new season then this is defo possible. But currently most discussions are on a presumption we should start the new season in close time to when it normally starts.

I like the idea of no European football next season as it takes away alot of the grievances of Leicester, Wolves and Shef U plus both the cl and Europa qualification should start in July. However the relegation/promotion issues are a nightmare.

One of the reasons that null and void is IMO the best bet is that it will be harder for clubs to launch appeals (probably ending up in court) against something that never happened. If they take the current places when all outcomes are still mathematically possible and the legal eagles will be jumping for joy.

Well yeah, football has always operated on a set calendar that's the same every year. Why would we mess that up for the next 4-5 years or however long it takes to finish the last 1/4 of one single season?

This season isn't worth that much. Yeah some teams were on their way to achieving something, but sacrificing that to restore the normal football calendar is more than worth it. In the end of the day, one season worth of achievements is nothing in the long scheme of things.

Dude, your last article was nearly one year agall.

Let people discuss what they want and if its repetitive so what? There's no other articles being made.

Fact is you taking the pulpit on every thread to talk about something you haven't contributed to in nearly a year is starting to induce vomit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you suggesting the more you post the more valid your argument is ?

What bizarre logic
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's not what I suggested at all. I'm pretty sure you know that. Either that or you can't read very well, sorry.

I think the implication is he keeps saying the same thing on every article yet complains about others saying the same thing. Your opinion is not going to change until the thing you have an opinion on changes. It's a bit preaching whining about somebody having a different opinion than you and repeating it, especially when you're doing it yourself.

I think it should be seen less as messing up the calendar for one season and more messing up the calendar because of a massive global pandemic. It just feeling a bit strange to everyone, which isn’t really a reason not to do it.

More problems would be whether certain cup competitions run, and sorting out transfer markets and contracts.

I think to make things fair across the board, the table should be reflected based on a club's result against the other 19 clubs in the league.

For those situations where two clubs have already faced each other twice, then points should be awarded based on the overall aggregate. If the aggregate is level after those two matches, then its an overall draw.

For example, Man United played Newcastle twice this season.

The results were...

6/10/2019 Newcastle 1 - 0 United
26/12/2019 United 4 - 1 Newcastle

Although Newcastle won their home match back in October, United would take three points since the overall aggregate would be 4-2. Newcastle would lose the three points they gained in the first match.

What I find funny about this is that I actually think you are serious

A season without European Football will hardly be a big deal in the grand scheme of things. UEFA need to get in the real world for once, and stop saying this has to happen, and that has to happen, and stop making out like they are running the show, they aint.

Coronavirus is running the show currently, and when it decides it has had enough, then, and only then can football resume. And it will probably be far to late for next seasons European Competitions.

I Miss football, but not Spurs. We are just an average team and haven’t been good to watch for over a year now. That being said, I’m looking forward to watching some of the top games like the CL etc. The league will hopefully resume soon. No way, shape or form should it be void. Totally unjust and unfair.

UEFA a first and foremost a massive business - Revenue of 3.9bn Euros in 2018/19.

For this reason they will not abandon the UCL / Europa or the Euros in the coming 12 months. These are their big earners

I am the complete opposite Don, I don`t miss football, but miss Spurs. I rarely, if ever watch any other team for the entire 90 minutes of any of their games, just glance at bits and pieces. However I miss the buzz of going to WHL, meeting up with mates/relatives pre match, walking up all those steps to my seat. Glancing at the Programme, banter during the match, some moaning. After match trooping back to the station, chatting about the game, win, lose or draw. I miss that more than anything.

But football in general, and all the rubbish from the pundits you can keep it.

Put it this way Sandy, since the CL final disappointment, was kind of the last straw for me of bottling it. Become fed up with Spurs. I’ll be there cheering like a lemon as per usual, but don’t particularly miss the disappointment that comes of supporting Spurs.

Fair enough Don, but you sound like you are ready to abandon ship. Something I could never do in a million years.

There has, will only be one club for me, win, lose or draw. If Spurs lost all 38 games in a season, they would still get my support.

Don’t think I’ll ever abandon ship mate. Just lost a lot of Will in supporting Spurs. It’s ok for you, you have seen a successful Spurs team. I’m 33 years of age and all I have ever known with us is pretty much failure. Bottling it when the going gets tough. Watching our rivals when countless trophies. I was in Spain watching us get outplayed by Chelsea recently and just get that feeling of typical Spurs all the time. How can you enjoy having that feeling all the time ? I will always support Spurs, but just totally get fed up with them if I’m honest, not to mention I can’t stand Levy and Co either which doesn’t help.

Yes I have seen the good times, but remember I have also seen a relegation. That is infinitely worse than the present Spurs performances.

How would our modern fans handle a relegation?
