The only "positive" thing that will come out of this is the Tories approval rating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the most twisted part. They should be investigated for criminal negligence yet are actually being praised
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely crazy!

They were discussing this in America, that Donald Trump's approval ratings throughout his impeachment and Coronavirus haven't shifted, around mid 40%, while Boris Johnson's increased to mid 60%.

It's almost like the Tories can do no wrong.

Baffling beyond comprehension.

Remember how we all looked on in horror at Italy two months ago.

The government had so many warnings. Keeping pubs, shops and schools open so long when we all knew it was spreading. Giving all the idiots one last night at the pub

Now they’re blatantly lying about testing figures and people just lap it up. I’m not convinced even this will damage the tories.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is where we need decent journalists to step up and start asking the questions. I’ve only watched the 5pm brief maybe less than 10 times, but when I have the quality of questions asked by journos has generally been wasteful
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I stopped watching it after the 2nd conference, it’s literally journalists recording questions with no way of follow up to the answers. The worst thing is no question ever gets answered, the Tory’s go off on a waffling tangent and move on.

You can't criticise the government in a time of crisis, it's unfair to expect them to do their jobs in a crisis.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leo seems to have handled it so much better than our guys, you should be proud. Times like this show who the true leaders are and who the inept donkeys are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah he's done well, clear and concise updates to the public at the right times, there's been mistakes made of course but overall its been handled well.

never forget when we were approaching the peak almost 1000 a day dying and someone from the Mirror asked if the government would back their campaign to get NHS staff medals

Wow that's surprising! One if the largest populations in the EU has one on the highest death tolls.
Who would have thought?

Hasn’t Germany got the largest population

Such a shame Starmer wasn't in charge at the last election. Would probably have a second referendum and certainly couldn't have handled this crisis any worse.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
A Tory thing is to say "But imagine if Corbyn was in charge..."

Somehow in their head, this has justified the Tories incompetence.

Genuinely, if we re-open to soon, a second wave is imminent. I just hope there's enough scientific knowledge implemented before caving into the public, because they are struggling to stay at home.

Shift the blame, then lie if that doesn’t work.

People are scared to question the tories because it means they may have to admit they were lied to during Brexit.

Coleman balls do you watch info wars and Paul Joseph Watson by any chance?

I’m aware countries are reporting this differently. When all is said and done, if we have surpassed Spain and Italy after the warning we had ahead of them. This gov should be sent packing. Fortunately for them they’ll probably still be sitting with a ban on mass gatherings at that point.

Just like every other rich economy bar Germany who fortunately for them had an internationally renowned industry of medical testing.
You can't legislate for everything, but you can react in the right way, whether that happened is a different debate.
