Today’s got sod all to do with the wider ffp. Some of the thicker journalists are trying to make it about that and set a false narrative but none of ffp itself is being debated as part of this case.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That isn’t the point, melts.
There are repercussions for FFP now. It’ll be seen as unfit for purpose, and Uefa itself will wonder what the point of the regulations and attempting to enforce them is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is an entirely false narrative though that this was never about. The insinuation of that is essentially we should have been found guilty regardless of the evidence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the insinuation - let’s call it a claim - is that outside the legal and accounting worlds of loopholes and creative bookkeeping, the breaches of the spirit of the regulations have been self-evident, flagrant, unapologetic, repeated, and unrepentant.
If the regulations aren’t able to serve their overarching purpose, what is the point in their existence? Qatar, the Saudis and others won’t see them as a threat any longer.

Weird that they'd state in emails that they were disguising equity funding, yet it turns out they weren't. Quite surprising.
Congratulations Newcastle United. Premier League champions 2021-22
----------------------------------------------------------------------
According to the statement put out by CAS - the main accusations were either unfounded or time-barred. The wording suggests that Man City did breach some rules but that it was too late to punish them.
Won't know for sure until the evidence is released.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Follow on from UEFA - "the CAS panel found that...many of the alleged breaches were time-barred due to the 5 year time period foreseen in the UEFA regulations".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So they got it in under the radar in 2014 then but because of some statute of limitations shiite they got off?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. They also said there was inconclusive evidence.

Saudi's now have the green light to buy Newcastle and spend a billion on players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And deprive Yoonited of all the players they wanted to buy!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah, United will be fine as one of the richest clubs in the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stop whinging then, if you're going to continue trying to buy the league again!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not whinging. I stated a case that this proves FFP isn't worth the paper upon which it's written, so any hesitancy rich owners had about following the City approach is now satisfied.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes you are!
I would've thought Liverpool fans will be happy though, pep and the hierarchy there only care these days about the CL, if they'd of been denied access they'd of just gone all out on the league

I don't know. The statements from both UEFA and CAS state that there was not enough evidence to prove all of the accusations, and that many were time-barred. It doesn't clarify whether there was enough evidence for these or if they didn't even look because they were time-barred.
