Because taking the knee is linked to BLM. BLM clearly are a political organisation who have some pretty far left goals such as ending capitalism, ending the nuclear family, defunding the police, its all on the websites both in the UK and US. The founders of BLM are self avowed "trained marxists" so yeah, not something anyone should be supporting.
Ask yourself this. If the booing was racist why did the same fans always clap for the Kick it Out pre-game announcement - which is clearly a charity and not a political movement?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nonsense, taking the knee was out long before BLM was formed. It is purely a gesture aimed at the racists. Racists are hiding behind the political nonsense.
If I was the players, as soon as the slightest hint of booing started, I would just walk off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do people choose to ignore the political aspect to taking the knee? It just seems to be another reason to hit people over the head with the racist bollocks.
We only started taking the knee after what happened in the States. BLM are officially recognised as a political party. Most of their policies are disgraceful, unless you are of a certain political persuasion you wouldn't agree with them. Sky Sports and the Premier League decided to use a logo of a political party and still do.
It's nothing to do with racism. People just don't want to be preached to and talked down to after spending an arm and a leg to watch the footy.
That's my view.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you post some of their official policies that are disgraceful?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There an extreme political party.
Setting out to disrupt the Western prescribed nuclear family unit for a start. What a most of us want in life. A wife and kids. I don't think many would want to be associated with that.

Just post the link where they say that instead of interpreting what you think they mean.

There is simply no logical explanation for booing players taking the knee, other than racism.
Players don't give a f*ck about the political implications, they are simply showing support for victims of racism. And I hope they continue to take the knee and highlight the systemic racism in our country.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then why did the same fans not boo the Kick it Out campaign pre-game announcements? In fact they always clapped it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
how do you know it's the same fans?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you recall either Kick it Out or Stand Up to Racism campaigns ever being booed (or even not being applauded)?
So either its the political element of the kneeing gesture thats angering fans or we have an entire new set of fans attending games today from the all the previous seasons.
I know which one I think its more likely.

I have just checked the BLM UK website which states on its front page:
"We stand together across the globe to change the world, we kneel together in peace and solidarity asserting Black people are treated as equals to White people. It is a human right to receive racial equality, social and criminal justice in the societies we live and to receive parity as full citizens of the country and as a united nation.
We are a non-political, non-partisan, non-violence platform. Some content published on our website may have limited political content by the very nature of a country state governed and under a system of democracy. We operate in a humanitarian capacity and concern before all else.

I think South Side is referring to this paragraph of the original What We Believe page...
"Black Villages: We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure
requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one
another, and especially “our” children to the degree that mothers, parents and children are
comfortable."
It really isn't as horrendous as made out

As you can see from all of the posts here. there isn't a single over-arching reason to why people boo. Like I said earlier, the message has been warped by so many different actors now that it means something different to different people hence all the confusion.
I would like to see the message reset so that it is clearly non-political so that it can't be hijacked by any political party. The fact that you are seeing a million different reasons to why people are booing shows that the message has been lost somehow and we need to get back to the original message that racism is not acceptable. Instead we are talking about Marxism etc which is not helpful.

Honestly what a load of bolllox perpetuated by the likes of Farage and all the other racists associated with the booing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Honestly what a load of bolllox perpetuated by the likes of Farage and all the other racists associated with the booing.
