Perhaps rephrase. Are the number of racists increasing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know for sure but it feels like it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know if they're increasing, but their actions are being called out more frequently and publically now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is the biggest change I can think of, we're just calling it out more these days.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There's little doubt the far right is on the rise both at home and abroad though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its been a period of right wing populism around the world, Trump, Johnson's government etc.

People get emboldened in climates like that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure about that. I think a lot of it has been overplayed, taken out of context and become a hollow narrative.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dunno, there's no definitive answer to that, but when you have an American president refusing to condemn murder by white supremacists in Charlottesville, and a UK Prime Minister saying with impunity that women in burkas look like letterboxes it creates a climate of validation for a certain type of person. It's got to contribute.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's no way that things are worse than they were 10/15 years ago.

If you look at the mainstream support to stamp out racism it is obvious to see that we, as a society, have made massive strides and continue to do so which is something that we should be doing.

Bank of America donated 1 billion USD to BLM last year to help the cause along with many other corporations supporting the cause. There are many affirmative action programmes and trainings that are happening more and more now to help fight against racism as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cool, but BoA did not donate $1billion to BLM.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The biggest donators aren't just giving money to BLM, they're pledging to specific programmes. Apple ($100m), Walmart ($100m over 5 years), Google and Facebook ($12m and $10m) and lots of others around the $100k mark.

Its all good CSR for these companies as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But I'm just pointing out none of the BoA money went to BLM. Its a lie that it did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know. There's so much disinformation and lies spread about BLM, and there are people desperate to believe it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hands up, I mis typed. It wasnt to BLM, but to programmes that support racial equality.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/02/business/bank-of-america-billion-dollar-donation/index.html

But the overall point still stands. Mainstream society is making strong efforts to create an equal society.

Economically, based on have and have not, or race?

Asian nations and Asian people in the West do well, so how is that?

White poor in UK or white trash as they are respectfully called in America...are they all racist and privileged?

Replacing class war or wealth gap with skin tone war appears to be a BLM policy, but is it divisive and misguided?

Because some people think that when people support "Black Lives Matter" it automatically means you're saying white lives/all lives don't matter.

What if black players say enough?
------‐----------------------------------
I think they're more like enough is enough, we not taking it silently anymore. I personally don't think they will stop until they see some real progress...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zaha spoke to say enough already with the knee.

Black players at Rangers said no more to Gerrard recent, so did not take a knee.

Other clubs and players gave said it has been done and there ate other ways to oppose racism...kick it out in place etc.

Take the knee came from American identity politics.

It is not set in stone and does not stop racism or racists.

If players want to keep doing it, so be it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, it’s actually taken from the American Civil Rights movement.

At least learn the f*cking basics of a topic before commenting on it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Haha.

Taking the knee is fine by me if players want to, but it is importing American identity politics into sport, which opens a can of worms.

I would not boo it, but would not want the group BLM near a sports stadium either.

And as certain black Ayers and clubs are saying no more kneeling, how long will it go on for?

There will always be one racist cretin on Twitter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you don’t want BLM in the stadiums (whatever the hell that means) but you’re ok with actual racists in the stadiums booing the players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do not want BLM group or any political movement at sport.

I would not boo taking the knee.

Yes, because obviously this is about what you want.

We’ve always had politics in sport, remember the black power salutes in front of and in defiance of Hitler?

Think on.

It's not a secret, Bluebells, just go to their website:

#BlackLivesMatter was founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer. Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Inc. is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives.

This is the thing about Marxists, they are Marxist up until the point when it becomes profitable... then they turn into Capitalists.
