Just seen the Sporting goals, nice finish for Goncalves second but had a pen saved to deny him a hat trick. What might have been eh?

From what I've read neither Goncalves nor Mir wanted to stay at Wolves. You do wonder if both of them had been given the attention, first team integration and chances that Silva has had whether they'd have been inclined to stay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah i have wondered this. Seems a few of our youngsters have wanted out or were unhappy here and maybe we could try and understand the reasons for that and do better in future. Sometimes it could just be minor things like support during the settling in process.
Did read someone say that they did try and get goncalves to settle in with Neves at one stage so it isn't like we didn't try to a point.
One of the things that came out when Nuno left was that he never watched the U23s. As a manager, I think he was pretty poor at bring youth through.
Saw Goncalves play a few times for the U23s and he didn’t stand out at all. He looked nowhere near as good at that level as Fabio does. Biggest message to me is just don’t give up on young players too soon
I think Nuno must take some of the blame for youngsters not settling. They need some attention and made to feel part of the set up, which those two obviously were not.
New country, new world at a young age is difficult.
A number of people have said there are good players to be found in the championship once the transfer window opens. If you read about our loaned players MGW at Sheffield Utd, Corbeanu at Sheffield Wed, Sarkic and Sanderson at Birmingham, Giles at Cardiff they are all rated amongst the best players this season at those clubs. Tito Gomes also getting rave reviews at Grasshoppers.
Will any of them make the grade with Wolves
I'll let you know about Sarkic and Sanderson at the weekend. At least one benefit to going to watch Blues.
For what it's worth, A contractor who I met at work is a Birmingham fan. He called Sanderson class, and hoped we didn't take him back in January.

They will probably not get a chance to make the grade with Wolves. They will go away and some will make the grade elsewhere.
U23s won 2-0 at Swansea today in the Premier League 2 Cup. Hesketh put them ahead and Cundle sealed the win with a penalty
Nuno certainly seemed reluctant to give anyone outside of his trusted group much of a chance. Even Kilman struggled to get game time under him. The other problem is that we are so rarely in a comfortable position in games where we can give the younger lads 10 or 15 minutes to show what they can do.
Would love to see some of the kids come through though. Was one of the great things about the league one season the number of players that got their chance and went on to make decent careers.
Not going to be a great day for football tomorrow. Heavy rain and strong winds forecast for much of the UK including Norwich
Typical when were playing a poor team, the weather will be a big leveller.
It's early days yet, but it seems that I am on course for a podium finish and a bronze medal in this years Fun Comp for best poster on the forum.
Not bad in my debut season, but I really need to up my game next year as the other finalists have really brought their A game.
Apparently we're cash strapped!!!

To be fair, he's played an absolute blinder this week. I have really only ever bothered with Spurs and United so I'm limiting my target audience somewhat.
Next year different tactics will be needed.
Willy Boly is injured again and won’t be in the squad tomorrow
Mike Taylor, BBC Radio WM
Bruno Lage has been speaking to the media before Saturday's Premier League game against Norwich.
Here are the key lines from the Wolves boss:
Willy Boly has suffered another injury setback and won't be fit for Norwich. Lage wouldn't put a timescale on his recovery, with the defender having not played a Premier League game yet this season;
Boly's absence adds to Lage's injury concerns, with Pedro Neto, Yerson Mosquera and Jonny still out of commission: “We are working with 16 players plus two goalkeepers. We need everyone fit and ready. At the moment we play with three centre-backs – and I only have three centre-backs";
With nine games in the next five weeks, Lage said Wolves "need to be aware of bookings, injury problems and Covid-19";
He also called on fans to "understand the challenge for the team, the squad and for me";
Lage holds his opposite number Dean Smith in the highest regard: “Dean is one of the best managers in the UK. I followed him since Brentford, and the work he did at Aston Villa, so it’s no surprise for me that he was only out of the game for a week. He’s like me, he wants his team to have the ball and I want my team to have the ball, so it’ll be a massive challenge to play against them.”
Boly's absence adds to Lage's injury concerns, with Pedro Neto, Yerson Mosquera and Jonny still out of commission: “We are working with 16 players plus two goalkeepers. We need everyone fit and ready. At the moment we play with three centre-backs – and I only have three centre-backs";
I can see why some don't think we need players when i read this paragraph, can't you
Hopefully Boly's recovery will be timed to be too late for a call up for the AFCON but just in time for him to cover for Saiss whilst he's away.
Looks like Bruno isn’t on the same page as Wolfie after all?
We are at least 3 players short of a squad capable of making it to the end of the season.

Never had this problem under Mick, always plenty of options in central defense.
