Nobody is arguing against making signings. and it isn't as if Wolves aren't making any. I think Nouri, Hueng, and Trincao is decent business.

I recently looked at what Everton fans thought about their squad. Their thoughts were, how the hell have we spent £500 million and ended up with the players we have?

Like I said spending money is easy, the trick is to spend it wisely. and if that means missing out on players because the likes of Everton are ready to pay over the odds. let them.

We have a more than decent squad, built up over time, with a plan for the future. Exactly how it should be.

Even is is threadbare.

Threadbare? I have seen Wolves in the Premier league before, those squads were threadbare. The best we could hope for was survival, and any players off the bench frankly laughable compared with the team we have today.

We could also have spent a ton of money and been no better off, with a bloated squad, and huge wage bill.

There is a balance to everything, and to me Fosun have got it about right.

Is that you Jeff?

We are thread are ffs. Even Bruno has said that this feckin week. Goldi has pointed out that an injury to one player, Donk, leaves us with no senior cover in defence or midfield, how the feck is that not threadbare? I mean seriously.!!

We could also have spent a sensible amount of money and been in a strong position, last season and this.

I posted a comment earlier in this article about how it seems we are strapped for cash and will need to sell a top player like Traore to get the funds to buy new players.

That to me at least, tells me that Fosun are maybe having second thoughts and are holding back the purse strings for now.

Every season it's the same posters who are crying out for new players, but as amiga quite rightly states, there are many reasons why we may be falling short of getting the better players needed. We need quality not quantity and it's going to be hard to attract the best players if we're not playing European football.

It's a catch 22 situation for us, but until we can produce a few youngsters of our own (like Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal) we may only be a mid table club with the odd chance of Europa League/Conference football.

I think whoever decided to pay 35m for an 18 year old untried youngster, needs to be sidelined. He's not getting any game time now that Jimenez is back and Hwang has come in. What next for the kid? I'm not sure I've read of any other club making such a big signing and letting them go out on loan. A situation that could well be on the cards in January.

Biggest irony in all of this...... Which club made arguably the most risky, throw shat at a wall purchase of recent time by spunking 35 million on an unproven kid......... Wolves.

From August

Fosun need to stand up and be counted and put their money where their mouth is, or we will be a club that will be mid table at best for the next few seasons and then maybe relegation fodder again. Players will want to leave if we don't have a strong squad capable of emulating at least our 7th place finishes.

wolfie I have said before that only mugs believe what is written by football journalists quoting "A wolves source", "A reliable source", etc, etc. There is a very good chance that Traore will be sold in January but it's not because the club are "Strapped for cash".
Pedro Neto is expected to return in January and once he is match fit again will have 6 players available to fill the forward positions in support of Jimenez.
Despite all the hype, Traore still produces little end product whilst scaring the hell out of defenders but ironically, he is worth more in the marketplace than any of the others (with the exception of Neto). It is for this reason that the club will move him on and use the money to bring in a player or players in the positions where they are desperately needed, ie. CB and CMF.

Cinci, and I mean this in the nicest of ways. You would be the last person I would trust to spend our money.

Gem, I didn't't say I "believed" that we are strapped for cash. I merely posted a comment that was on the BBC website. Your mate posts stuff on here about players we are supposed to be looking at and no-one bats an eyelid.

By the way, have you heard of Fosun spending money without selling? No, so you can't dismiss/ignore a comment made by a journalist who may know more than us.

They'd make a great management duo, best since Barnwell and Barker.

There's a happy medium you know between where we are now and having a bloated squad. Two players for each position would be a good start.
