Spurs 80-86 points

You had no European football last season and no real deep cup runs.

Let’s see how you get on playing twice a week as we did the whole of last season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well we played twice a week 7 out of the 12 gameweeks in the second half of the season (LC semi final isn't deep? LOL).

We averaged ~2 points a game in that period, with a dramatic increase when Kulu & Bentancur joined.

Its hardly a ridiculous prediction that we will do slightly better, with the upside of the range depending on how early we get knocked out of various cups.

What is it with you and the Yankeedoodledums?

Why everything is about gambling and picking holes with you? hormonal are we?

Spurs will be out of all the cups by January, they’ll clean up in the second half of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don’t know, the domestic cups would surely be the most realistic chance of a trophy for them
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Conte's record in cup competitions is absolutely appalling.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well they’re winning Fack all then.

Why is it that Spurs fans have already decided they will be 10-15 points better off next season, may I ask.

Just because they have signed some players, is that it? That's not how it works.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because we dont have Nuno managing us for half a season.

I really don't know why this is so hard for people to understand.

Conte managed 28 league games, and averaged 2 points a game.

In the second half of those 28 games, after we had made some signings, we picked it up winning 10 and losing 2 of 14. Av.2.28 pts a game. That sort of form gets you to the 86 point mark.

Yes we will have cups to cope with but the squad is bigger and better now, so i have your 80-86 pts as bang on Edin

To add to it, I don't think cups effect Conte as much as is being stated.

In his final season at Inter where he won the league, he won every game around going DEEP into the Coppa Italia.

Season before that he was in multiple cups for a while and missed out on the title by one point and dropped the majority of their points a while after being knocked out of the cups (albeit the condensed Covid schedule didn't help)

if they get off to a slow start what will the excuse be this year. i think they will be better but none of their buys would get into the liverpool team.

I’ve seen little mention of the effect of so many new signings in one window. Are Spurs fans just assuming that they’re all going to instantly gel?

If you extrapolate Spurs' record under Conte to a 38 game season, they would have 76 points.

That's still another 15 point swing they need to make up on Liverpool.

None of Liverpools would get into Spurs so your comment has no relevance.

@Term - I think its because these guys aren't guarenteed first team players so its a lot easier to gel players into the team as a result. Conte's football is also more simplistic and easier to pick up than the complexity of Pep or Klopps football.

@Pranks - no, because we arent bored lonely old men trying to get our kicks from a pointless bet on an obscure internet forum

@Neo - you deliberately missed the part about the post January ppg as an inference.

If we take all Spurs best parts of the season, pretend everyone is going to be at the top of the replicating all Spurs best bits of the season and then say all the signings are going to be amazing whilst also ignoring anything negative so we can suit a narrative then yes, Spurs might get 80 points or something.

Yeah, I deliberately ignored it because people were using Nuno as a reason as to why you'll end up with more points, so I used Conte's record since he started.

Cool - so your post January ppg (which is an arbitrary period over a 38 game season) is not representative of the conditions your squad will face this year.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So you wouldn't proceed to eliminate the teething process & the part where he actually got to bring his own players in?

So I'm guessing when Klopp came in and averaged 1.67 points in his first season. You expected him to do the same thing in the 16/17 season and finish up on 63 points?

Cmon, surely you are not that dense?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No odds Sandy, you either finish above us or not.

Winner owns the losers username for the next season

You ain’t got the minerals saan
----------------------------------------------------------------------

LOL bottled giving odds. If I am going to have a bet I will go the bookies and get decent odds.

You ain't got the minerals to give any more then 50/50. Like me saying to a Fulham supporter you want a bet who finishes higher Spurs or Fulham. I will give you even money.

Well not really, when it's well documented that teams do better when they don't have a European distraction....
