If you don't think the propaganda machine that is currently in overdrive in the UK, plus the arresting of peaceful protestors, isn't comparable to NK then you must be blind.
Also, Sadiq Khan is mayor despite the will of imperial institutions like the monarchy. If they had their way he wouldn't be anywhere close

Technically he has already gotten away with it. Didn't the monarchy pay off his accusers?
Also, he was like that for years and it was never really reported on that much.
It took the Epstein affair and for actual victims to come out decades later for it to blow up. Victims who had stayed silent for years for fear of what would happen to them if they talked or were simply ignored or silenced when they spoke up.
The media gives us the impression that we would know if something was happening, but just because Andrew blew up doesn't mean that's all they have to hide. In fact, the public knows very little about what's actually behind the scenes, but the little we know makes us feel like we know a lot, because we don't even know how much there is to know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that's my point though, he got away with it because it happened 20+ years ago, but I can't see that happening if it was attempted now. Someone would spill it I think.
Likewise I have no doubt they have a ton of historical secrets, but would struggle if they attempted to hide those same things today.

But the oversaturation of coverage on BBC (and elsewhere) of first the platty jubes, and now whatever they're calling the latest pantomime is bordering on the ridiculous.

Slander? Saying he's a sick man? Breach of the peace is so vague, police can make it fit almost any situation. If you walked past any normal person - even in a funeral procession - and said that, the most that would happen is you'd get a telling off or a slap from someone. You certainly wouldn't be arrested. What's not to trust? Look at my post history - I rarely post so I'm hardly on a crusade here. I live in the UK, I 've been experiencing the over-the-top coverage and came on here to discuss it. That's it.
I do expect it to be covered by the press, of course, but the level of coverage is absurd. They would have you believe 100% of the country is bawling literal tears about this. And of course world leaders are coming to see her off - they belong to the same ruling class. Meanwhile the cost of living crisis rages on and we pay millions for her funeral.
Not that that bothers you while you sniff a glass of red and eat brie, of course

This is why Meghan and Harry to here their toys out the pram. Something like that simply doesn't happen without a stamp of approval from senior elements of the royal family. There were no attempts to control the media as would have been usual. There were no corrections or statements condemning the behaviour of the media. The royal family did not deploy it's PR machinery to help them out. You can't go after a royal like that unless allowed to and they hinted at this in their interviews.

You still banging on about Harry & Meghan mate?
The monarchy have contacts within the press for sure and I don’t doubt that bits have been buried but it’s nothing like a blackout. Diana, Charles, Harry, Horse face, Camilla, Philip - all have been slammed in the press over the years. Including your blessed Meghan Markle

nine billion around the world to watch on TV

That seems like a punchy estimation

I don’t think propaganda is strong, it’s just there’s levels to it and NK is in a league of its own.

The global population is less than 9 billion so even if everyone in the world watched, including toddlers and newborn babies, it still wouldn't be 9b.
The psychophancy around the monarchy is puke inducing.

Propoganda maybe a bit strong to describe what are witnessing.
But the oversaturation of coverage on BBC (and elsewhere) of first the platty jubes, and now whatever they're calling the latest pantomime is bordering on the ridiculous.
I get it, the Queen meant a lot to many people.
But equally there is a minority, and a large one at that, who have a passing interest or just don't really care, and participation is being forced down their throats whether they like it or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, I do think 'propaganda' is an appropriate word though because they're trying to convince the populace that something that is bad for them is actually good for them.
How people can deny it I do not understand.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because you cannot understand how people that think differently to you feel. You lack empathy my dear fellow and are very blinkered and close-minded.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he got away with it because he's a royal. Even Epstein couldn't get away with it but being a royal has its perks. They will turn the world inside out to protect you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He got away with it, as you put it, because it wasn't illegal. It was sleazy though and showed that he is a piece of work. They payed for it to go away.
Next point, it's said they have the press in their pocket, a PR machine. How do you know whose money it was, and how much?

You and many others have spent the last few days extensively telling us how bad the monarchy is.
The fact that nobody has changed their minds on it might tell you that it's not just because of propaganda, we just don't feel the same way you do?

Sorry I forgot that we live in North Korea
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're an absolute clown - stop parroting the same line and actually respond to my points.
Everything I said is accurate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re too thick to have the honour of debating with me. Comparing the UK to North Korea and calling someone else a clown πππ
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You've literally offered nothing to debate. Just name-calling and acting superior while saying zilch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There isn't a propaganda machine, you made it up
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A man living in France telling someone in the UK there is no media machine pushing the agendaMate, trust me, it's literally wall-to-wall propaganda here
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I don't trust you. I read the papers, they have been reporting on the death of the Queen and now the funeral.
Heads of state from around the world have sent their respects, most are coming to the funeral.
A million people are expected to come to London and nine billion around the world to watch on TV. Do you expect the press to not report this? She was loved and respected, are they not to print this?
It's not propaganda, it's true and people want to read about it.
Despite this there have been reports from other viewpoints that criticise.
If you think that this is anything like North Korea you are mistaken.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What's not to trust? Look at my post history - I rarely post so I'm hardly on a crusade here. I live in the UK, I 've been experiencing the over-the-top coverage and came on here to discuss it. That's it.
I do expect it to be covered by the press, of course, but the level of coverage is absurd. They would have you believe 100% of the country is bawling literal tears about this. And of course world leaders are coming to see her off - they belong to the same ruling class. Meanwhile the cost of living crisis rages on and we pay millions for her funeral.
Not that that bothers you while you sniff a glass of red and eat brie, of course
