Henry said Scholes 1 and Gerrard 2 and Carragher looked stunned in that studio.
Arsenal were out biggest rival by far back then and they hate us too and Henry still picked Scholes as the best.
Scousers wonder why we managed to win as much as we did. Scholes was central to most of it. Never seen a player control and run a game like him in this league until KDB arrived on the scene.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s done it, TOOR’s head will explode now
Few managers in the game worse than Henry but Scholes was one of them.
Another thing Gerrard is better at. Scholes bottled one job after 4 days I think. What a 🤡

Sacked as Villa for being useless, proper manager like Emery comes in and you see the difference

When this is all you've got in the 'debate' about who was a better player then you know deep down what the answer is.

Scholes was a better player than Gerrard. Gerrard was a better athlete. Sort of like Messi and Ronaldo

The mousers are seething for some reason.
United fans fume over Scholes himself saying Gerrard was better and they somehow think they can twist this and claim Liverpool fans are angry instead.
Good try though, if you were in the playground.
United fans are not the ones fuming here
Gerrard would have been handy for cup games, he always seemed to raise his game for those one-offs, fair play to him. We'll never know if he had it in him to help drive his team to relentless title after title like Scholes did, one of the great what-ifs, I guess.

Perfectly summarised. He never did have the mentality for a league title challenge. As evidenced by the bionic huddle leading to the slip.

Would Scholes had driven Liverpool to a CL win? We'll never know!!!
Gerrard was a great player for digging his team out of a hole his poor play and leadership had lead his team into.
