All refs make mistakes in pretty much every game. In recent games I think it has been Wolves who could maybe feel most agitated, but its swings and roundabouts as to who feels most hard done by.

If scousers really want to feel Coote has been blatantly biased against them, so be it, but recognise there is a difference between someone being annoyed by what a manager has said about them and then talking about it when totally blootered, and someone who is completely corrupt in the game.

Personally I just think he’s an awful ref. But he’s opened himself up to all sorts of accusations and doubt. PL refs are paid a big salary and they rightly have a strict code of conduct away from the pitch, especially regarding stuff like this.

I actually agree with this. There were a couple of 50:50 decisions on Saturday (ignoring the terrible decision on Salah) he could have easily have given to Villa e.g the Konate shoulder challenge on Watkins) and if he was genuinely corrupt then he wouldn’t have hesitated to have given them.

I just think he’s a completely incompetent to$$er and an an absolute Shiite ref. However after this stuff being released massively questions his integrity, it’s impossible for him to continue in the job really. It’s a gain for the league either way.

It’s evidence that he thinks he’s a cuuuuunt after the abuse he got from him. That isn’t evidence of bias. I bet there was loads of refs that thought Fergie was a cuuuunt as well, but we used to get loads of decisions like Liverpool do.

Thing is bias works in all kinds of ways, like he might be wary of being biased against Liverpool and then end up going too far the other way. Any decision he makes is steeped based in that bias and would you trust him to be professional enough to put that aside? Considering he was unprofessional enough to get caught saying all this stuff on video, probably not.

I think the reality is that he's just bad at his job.

Just the fact that he's clearly this facking thick should be enough to relieve him of his duties. You need common sense as a ref and he obviously has none.

Their salaries aren't that good for the position they're in, to be honest.
Ranges from about 70k to 140k, from what I've seen online.
That's a year, not week.

I find it ironic that a referee on pretty mediocre money (in the PL world), can have such a massive effect on the outcome of a game, often costing clubs millions of pounds because of a fack up they have been part of.
