Again - this behaviour goes far wider than organised religion. Various other institutions have had accusations of failure to report similar wrongdoing. Well documented

Wasn’t it the case that he was told the police had been notified? Again - I’m not defending him and I’m certainly not a church goer but sounds like he’s ultimately guilty of not putting in place proper safeguarding and reporting processes rather than actively covering up an incident? Correct me if I’m wrong - I’m still getting up to speed on what’s happened

Christianity has no place in this country. Deport all Christians to third world countries where that ideology belongs. The government trying to hide the Christian grooming gangs in churches.

When you lie on your death bed and contemplate an eternity of ceasing to be, you might wish you had some faith that there is something beyond and that may give you some comfort that death isnt the end.

That is the essence of religion to me, and that fear has been manipulated and exploited more than anything else in human history, but that is what it boils down to IMO.

I am therefore not critical of those who have faith, it is their choice and in the vast majority of cases it results in many positive life choices. But as with any large institution, if there is no real accountability and independent oversight, bad shiiit will happen and will be covered up.
