The point I'm making is, that in business, companies who generate the most income to the sector of business their involved in, don't share that with their rivals. It doesn't matter which business model it is, that is how business works.

We work as part of the Premier league so we can maximise revenue, its a very simple idea. We are in the PL for the good of the English game, if Liverpool don't want that, they know were they can go ....

Reebok Bricks

And those 4 clubs above us should earn more than we do in terms of TV rights, as they have been more successful. And I love how largehat has a go at me for using personal insults and then calls me a tool.

Irony eh?

The premier league are not our parent company, despite the impression you lot seem to have.

I'm not saying that, we are part of the same 'cartel'.

Most of the biggest firms in the world are under this sort of agreement to minimise risk ...

The sports industry has to remain a sport and the 20 clubs unanimously voted to the overseas broadcasting deal. It's about the only thing the Prem and it's clubs agree with Mr Platini on.

Even when British Gas & BT were de-nationalised, the monopolies and mergers commision set up regulators to allow any other companies to bid for the right to use their supply routes to sell the same products and compete.

According to article 81 of the treaty of Rome cartel's are in fact illegal by EU law.

The exact structure of the league isn't exacly a cartel, I'm just using this as an example.

Fair enough just making sure.

Reebok

Can I have your source that shows that it was a unanimous vote?

And nobody would be stopping you compete why do you keep thinking this!!!

You have no idea what you're talking about do you? Why don't you leave it to the others? At least they have some knowledge and idea of the subject at hand.

What a stupid comment, I was using cartels as an example, the premier league is not exactly a cartel but there is no one business model that the Premier league adheres to because the football industry is a completely different market to most !!!!

Ok, let's just forget about this big bad story and Ayre trying to make money for the company which he is employed to make money for, it's not as if we ever do that in our jobs.

It is not his fault teams like Bolton don't have as many customers than the business he works for. I'm gonna goto BT next week and tell them, I sold a phone, I know that you sell millions but I think that I am entitled to equal the amount of income that you get.

Right, thats it, you're not making any sense or listening to any comments on here.

That industry has no relation to the football industry or the premier league which Liverpool agreed to sign up to.

Each premier league team gets one vote, this protects the interests of the majority of the clubs not just the big clubs.

So is Ian Ayre wrong for trying to make Liverpool money?

Yes or no answer.

No, maybe he could it with some more decorum?

Liverpool signed up to the Premier league, if they want to leave it, they can ....

Reverse the question, is our club wrong for protecting our interest?

My phone is worth £15. The phones you have are worth £20,000,000. I want £10,000,000.

Which is exactly what is happening here.

For example, Liverpool are worth £1billion a year in terms of overseas TV revenue. Bolton are worth £100m. So Bolton want £550million. Which they are now getting. Which the Premier League and the voters have voted for. However why is it wrong to look at this situation and say, hold on a minute here, I think this is unfair, my business is getting the same as others, when we are generating the most income, this should be up for discussion. Let's debate about it.

I think that is within his rights to do. Whether people vote to agree with that is up to them but it is within his rights to voice his opinion on what his company should be allowed to do with their product.

Accept it and move on. Stop blaming him for things that he didn't say and stop insulting the club and its so-called non-success over the past twenty years.

This might be debated and it might not come to fruition but he is entitled to look for the best deal for the company he is employed to make money for.

No, but I've never said that.

But if you're protecting your interest, why are we not allowed to?

No but our fans haven't made an article criticising your club for it.

Thats why the Premier league was set up, to protect the interests of all parties so they can come to a compromise.

Of course he is entitled to his opinion but he is speaking for your football club.

Maybe next time he can voice his opinion without insulting my club?

I've said my final piece for today, I'm off to try play football. Wish me luck.

Just a little bit touchy aren't you, Bolton fans.

posted on 16/10/11

Yeah I based my point on shorts . The football club with the biggest shorts wins.

So where are Bolton fans basing their "worldwide" fan base on? I look forward to your answer.
