When he becomes the talisman for a team for nearly a decade and takes them to 5 Pl titles and a CL title win we'll talk again**

& thats why you're a United fan isnt it..so you can reel out the old classics when all else fails....Pride eh

& Thats where the BS kicked in wasnt it because you dont watch all Everton's games...do you

-----------------------------------

Of course I don't watch "all" Everton's games but I didn't realise you had to in order to have an opinion on one of their players.

China I'm just going off what I've seen from both in the flesh when they broke onto the scene, and the words of an experienced youth scout who found them both.

"Deulofeu will be a better player than Barkley IMO"

Already pointed out that I actually see more potential in the Barca lad. He won't get Barkley's hype though cos he's not English or a local lad. A bit like the media going on about Wilshere at Arsenal as if he was the messiah when we had much better players in the side.

Moyes hasnt got the bottle to spend 50m on a player

So essentially, you have no opinion on any player outside Everton FC because you don't watch all the games he plays in?

posted on 31/12/13

We don't want him for £50m. Keep him.

Why is that an old classic when its fookin true rooney is going to break bobbys goal scoring record ffs! Looks a good bet to beat bobbys record at england too, add the fact hes a fundamental reason united have won so much in the last decade......hence united bought him in 2004, because he was fookin good and fergie new he would win united CL and titles etc

yeah I have an opinion but I understand that my knowledge of the player & my ability to judge his consistency will be poor compared to the fan that goes to watch them live every week

In that case, you have absolutely no idea just how Rooney has become. He's amazing. You can't even fathom how good he is so don't even try. He's the best player in the world and don't argue with me because you don't watch him every week.

I'm not argueing with you on Rooney....& I would believe you if you said you thought he was the best in the world

We don't need Barkley. Is he a CM capable of playing in a 2? No he isn't, he's a number 10 and we already have two great number 10s.

posted on 31/12/13

50m for Barkley, thanks but no thanks. We can do so much better for cheaper

posted on 31/12/13

Its pretty obvious (to Evertonians who actually watch Everton) he is going to go on to be as good as or better than Rooney..

____________________________________

I know this is most likely a troll, or if not, a rather simple buffoon who knows little about football, but seriously in what way, shape or form is it obvious that Barkley will become as good if not better than Rooney?

Firstly lets analyze that little bit you got in brackets there. You seem to be implying that the only people who are actually qualified to make assumptions on how good Barkley can be are Everton fans who watch him play every week, which is fair enough i suppose, but correct me I'm wrong, Wayne Rooney left your club at the age of 18, so using your logic, you are hardly in any position whatsoever to judge Rooney, as he left your club near a decade ago, at 18 ( 2 years younger than Barkley is currently ) so it's not like you've watched him extensively in the last decade, that is your logic right?

Secondly, I'm not going to even mention his stats as an argument to put the lad down ( I think he's a massive talent ) as they speak for themselves to be fair. But woah, you guys are beyond deluded. I'm no United fan, but on here I've seen an Everton fan claim United his a sideways move please, be serious you guys are currently hitting your ceiling, enjoy it but don't become like the spurs fans, and who made it so easy to have a laugh at their expense.

Wayne Rooney was acheving far more than Barkley has, at the age of 18 ( who can forget that debut? ) so what basis is it that Barkley is better than Rooney? Rooney who has had an absolutely incredible career hasn't even lived up to the hype and potential he seemed to have after that Euro 2004 performance. Rooney's potential and quality at 18 far superceeds Barkley's at 20 in my opinion, and if Barkley becomes half the player he has become, congratulations to the lad he'd done what should be expected of him.

The 50M price tag though, that is the worst, that is absolutely ridiculous. Someone tried to justify it by saying that "Well if Torres was 50m, Barkley should rightly be so too" like seriously? for real? You're going to use perhaps the biggest flop in football history as justification for such a ludicrous price? By the same token i could use Everton's very own Seamus Coleman ( what a player this lad is ) as an example as to why Barkley shouldn't even be worth 1Million pounds, ( he's hardly 16.6 times the player, right? ). What a silly way to justify it, really.

Besides all this, I think Barkley is a fantastic talent and I'm sure he'll become the fantastic player, who has a fantastic career, but Everton fans ( some of them, not all of course ) seem to be getting way ahead of themselves. Take heart from what happened to the gobby spurs fans, and just be a little more modest about your current situation, huh?

He's got ZERO assists in the PL this season, Kamran.

That maybe the strikers fault not Barkleys.
