Maybe Barnes should be asking why there was only three black managers at the Africa cup of nations employed!

I don't think a return to empire is viable or sustainable in the modern world. All great empires fall and ours fell apart because those we civilised were ungrateful and took advantage of post war anti imperialism. That being said, in an ideal world would I go back to a time when Britain dominated half the known world? I'd be open to it. Why not? Don't we all want Britain to continue to be a world leader?

He has spoken at great length regarding the disdain that black managers are treated with, within African nations, in favour of European managers, both at domestic, and international level.

I must disagree to say the least. The empire itself was built on the backs of the peoples we civilised to begin with so you can't really say they were ungrateful. The empire was bound to recede because it is human nature to resist colonialist dictatorship. The empire put natives in concentration camps and sheet and occupied all the best of everything from land to minerals to administration. Natives were slaves on the lands they had occupied some years earlier. Revolution was guaranteed. Inevitable even. The empire also used natives in the war and when it ended they took war skills like guerilla warfare and how to make guns back to their homes in places like Africa. The concurrent uprisings across the empire thereafter were too much so it was not really the 'anti imperialism' they took advantage of IMO.
The empire civilised billions but also made them to suffer and some still suffer to this day in some ways. I would not want it back in the form it was before it fell to be honest.

Greatteams..

Taking from those weaker than yourselves has always been the most profitable way to run a country.

I'm not an advocate of welfare and foreign aid. I think it's an unfair burden to force on the tax payer. Any such contributions should come out of a voluntary tax scheme.

To be fair, I am not an advocate of the amount we spend on Foreign Aid.

I have no problem helping out the lesser countries when disaster happens, but we spend far more on it than we should.

And there is the problem.

Making sure it gets to the right hands.

These comments are ironic when you consider that Barnes was inexplicably given a job as a tv presenter a while back despite being completely incapable of reading an auto-queue!

He was only given this job in the first place due to his fame and popularity as a footballer. Surely this must have been a clear case of discrimination against the thousands of talented people who WERE capable of reading an auto-queue but weren't fortunate enough to be famous/popular footballers?

Seriously...Worst. Presenter. Ever. And not because he was black!

Racism, sexism, ageism, nepotism, etc. etc. are all serious problems but they are not helped by bleating of this kind. If Barnes has evidence of discrimination then he should come out with it. If not then he should shut the frak up because such comments, in the absence of evidence, are counterproductive.

We need to fix these problems in football - and in other industries - but facts and evidence are needed to achieve this. I.e. not the anecdotal whining of people who have nothing specific to back up their claims. It is impossible to act constructively in response to unsubstantiated self-pitying.
