Exactly. Why would it be from anyone other than the people that were asked about it ie. Cleverly, Johnson and Patel….

Trump with a truly big brain move over the weekend:
America should put the Chinese flag on US military aircraft and then "bomb the s---' out of Russia", Donald Trump has told Republican donors.
The former US president told his audience in New Orleans added: "[Then] we say – China did it, we didn’t do, China did it, and then they start fighting with each other and we sit back and watch.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whether he meant it as a joke or otherwise, this kind of shiiiiit should have disqualified him from office in the eyes of voters many years ago.
The idea that someone who considers himself a statesman would think it’s OK to make statements like that publicly is nothing short of ridiculous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Something tells me he legitimately thinks this sort of tactic would work
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You seem confident that it wouldn’t 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It could work if it was obviously done correctly with every little detail covered for, but with what we all know about Trump, I have this image of him thinking you could send an American fighter jet with a caucasian pilot talking English over comms, with just a Chinese flag painted on it
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is your opinion? You’re the one condemning the performance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Answering a question with a question, how very swervy of you.
I have already said what I think, but just because its you..
I don't think they want a precedent for other war fleeing refugees, you know, the Syrians, the Libyans, the Iraqis etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So if the numbers increase vastly from the current reported figure of 50? You would retract or change your view?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've already told you, no, we were meant to be free to act, flexible because we were released from the shackles of the constraining EU, yet here we are. I want them to change but don't think they will.
So, Why do you think its proving so difficult?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have no idea mate. It could be for protectionist reasons as you say, it could be a slow start but ramping up later (like a reverse of the EU with vaccines for example).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That slow start (on vaccines) was due to availability of vaccines to put into people. This would be a slow start but a couple warehouses full of vaccine just sitting there waiting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which was due to their paperwork which they had in place……
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who’s paperwork? I thought it was because the UK hoovered up the first ones?
Again in your analogy the EU had warehouses full of vaccines but were deciding not to put them into peoples arms. I’m not sure that was the case.
I suspect part of it on the UK side is because they’ve designed a system to be difficult to navigate, but in doing so it is unable to react nimbly to crises such as this one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
God you really do love drilling down into minutiae.
The paperwork that the EU had on vaccines, the contract they had was inferior to our which is why they didn’t have any.
Maybe our paperwork is similarly inept and is causing us to have a slow start.
Get me?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Minutiae is what the M stands for in my username 😜
I get you now, the contract didn’t have the “first priority” bit the UK did.
From what I think you’re saying our “paperwork” is in effect the process we’ve designed as an independent group of nations in the UK that make it frustratingly difficult in normal times to navigate, but downright unhelpful in the current situation wrt the war in Ukraine?

Why does this country hates foreigners lads
A truck has reversed into the gates of the Russian embassy in Dublin, taking them right off the hinges!
One man arrested.
In a village south of Kyiv we met Ihor Mozhaev picking through the rubble of his home after a Russian air strike Friday. He lost 5 family members, including his wife and 12yo daughter. "Just leave Ukraine alone already. God help this to end as soon as possible."

Poor bloke, his daughter was in a wheelchair too. I dunno how he hasn’t topped himself.
I don't quite understand Johnson's energy plan that he's now proposing.
He seems to be planning to drill out every last drop out of the North Sea in record time, then a heavy shift to renewables.
Two things:
1. how does taking out and using every last drop of oil from the north sea fit with climate goals.
2. and most importantly, my understanding is that licences are granted for oil exploration/drilling to private companies and then they are free to sell that oil to the highest bidder. How does that help us? Are they going to make the oil companies sell it to the UK? Will the oil companies go along with that? Why would they, particularly given the well-documented cost of exploiting the remaining fields (it was certainly well-documented in the independence referendum).
The plan seems to have fairly significant flaws.

It's rank stupidity.
The issue is though, we need oil from somewhere rapidly..
I'd prefer we kept our reserves in the ground, but we are running out of options. My only criticism is that we should be ramping up renewables NOW to ensure we extract the minimum necessary.

1. It ensures we can keep the lights on and maintain security of supply, which is bloody crucial to climate goals - it is not an either or when it comes to ramping up renewables.
2. You are correct - but the reality is the government is already intervening in ways it never normally would - it basically forced Shell and BP out of Russia under threat of sanctions. It wouldn't shock me if they rewrote the rules on selling oil.

More importantly - monster munch. What shape are they?

Claw.
Decent snack but couldn't lace the boots of Frazzles.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Frazzles repeat too much.
But back to monster munch I give you the following theory:

Aye fk you Sat Nav! I read that link, clicked on the conclusive tweet from the Walkers woman, cannot retrieve this tweet...WTF I need to know...Tell me!

If you turn a monster munch upside down it actually looks like a monster rather than a monster claw
