Barnes is useless that is why he cannot get a job. He is such an arrogant priiiick, I would not want to employ him either. Nothing at all to do with the colour of his skin. Him and Campbell are two of a kind.
Have a look at the managerial careers of Ince and Keane and which jobs they were offered.
To be honest, I can think many owners seek a manager with a vision of their skin colour.
We will see a gradual rise in the number of black managers as this generation of players retire and decide on their futures.
It's all about skin colour though, for example, how many African (white or black) players become managers in Europe after retirement?
Paul Ince is a terrible manager, worst I've ever seen at Notts County, lost 9 games in a row NINE games in a row, in League One ffs
Personally I can't see anything wrong with a person choosing to employ a white person. If a business owner would rather employ a person of one ethnicity than another then surely that's his entitlement; living in a free society n all that.
Flash stop looking for bites
but when the amount of black players are taken into consideration, you have to query why there are so few black managers.

...because not that many of them are taking their coaching badges? Would seem to be a good explanation.

Are you telling me that a white business owner isn't entitled to employ white members of staff is that's his preference?
I can see what French is saying. I dont want to comment any further though
Not just because they're white no
He's French, He's Farage is saying descrimination should be a personal choice one is allowed to make.
Just looking at Barnes' quote I don't think he's beefing about his own managerial career, which I'm sure even he agrees was pap. He's making a very valid point that black managers are still seen as a novelty (a bit like black players were way back when), and they don't seem to get a second chance to grow as a manager if they fail first time round. Every great managers got a failure or two on their CV, even the greatest of all, Fergie.
I can see what French is saying. I do want to comment; he's a racist.

It absolutely should. We live in a supposedly free society. Business owners should have every right to employ whomever they choose.

Why? It's their business...
How many black managers have been sacked after failing in the FL and never been given another job?

Ince
Have all been given numerous opportinitites to manage again, I think it's more about getting the first shot, not what happens gate they fail first time

A lot of the time in the wider world it is cultural. How many times do you go to your local corner shop and get served by a white person? How many times does a white person serve you as you sit down at your local Indian restaurant? How many times do you see a white face in a rap/R n B/hip-hop video? How many times, when you stroll in to an Ann Summers shop with your Mrs, are you confronted by a sales assistant wearing a Burka or Hijab?

I find it funny that people cite Barnes' two failed attempts at management as a reason he can't get a job.
It doesn't really work when plenty of white managers have gotten work repeatedly despite doing an appaling job everywhere they've been. Souness, AVB, Steve Clarke and Tony Mowbray are a few to come to mind.
And that's only premier league. I'm sure in the lower leagues, plenty of managers get sacked routinely and shuffle clubs every 18 months.
At the end of the day, Barnes has a point, moreso than Campbell did with the England captaincy claims, and to dismiss it as playing the race card is sticking your head in the sand.
---------------------
I am pretty sure that all of them lot of had relative success early in their management career, so they do have it in them. Barnes has had 2 management jobs and done crap in both. And he talks a load of rubbish. Would you give him a job?
I think people should take a look at the initial jobs of all black managers. Other than taking over in a caretaker manager role, like QPR, they all have to start at the very bottom.
Keith Curle started at Chester
Ince at Maccesfield
I'd love to provide more examples....... but there are not any.
This is all down to the Government sponsored 'Sense of Entitlement' we've nurtured and suffered through over the past 25 years.
"I deserve a job and income because I'm entitled to it." Actually, you aren't. The only thing you're entitled to is your life. Everything else is/should be what you make of it.

When did Farage ever refer to ethnicity as an issue? Or are you just jumping on the racist bandwagon?
I won't be voting for Farage, but a racist he is not.
