In all honesty I couldn't give two monkey on what players do for 10 seconds before a match. I'm probably more irked by the belief it will achieve something.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all we can do though, is try and believe it will make a difference. If it doesn't work, we'll try something else.

Not football related, but perhaps it needs to be tackled at source rather than later in the day.
Investigations into why people become racist and try to stop that happening.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, but your talking about changing the education system, which i think should happen anyway to be honest but highly doubt will.

Not much would need to be done in all honesty.
But I don't think it's about white shaming.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not saying to do that, at all, just teach people the truth, not the whitewashed version, like BS
that Coloumbus 'discovered' a country that was already there, or teach them that black people had Kings and queens in Africa, before our own monarchy and they were not just 'savages' who needed the British to 'save' them, they had gold, jewles, resources, housing etc

Why the boos?
Because its inextricably linked to BLM which is proving to be counterproductive to race relations and has some unpleasant policy ideas.
Fans have every right to boo the players.
This idea that the players are doing it for equality and not because of BLM is a clear lie unless the timing was one big happy coincidence and the slogans were all just part of our imagination.
it wud b grate if all teams voluntarily take the knee b4 every game at Euros

And so the argument begins again...
Not only have the players explicitly stated it's not to do with BLM but the gesture of kneeling predates BLM with regards to race relations (Colin kapernick)
Aside from that it is a symbol of respect, the UEFA campaign against racism is the "Respect campaign" so it makes perfect sense.
Have the two of you read the thread? This has been demonstrated quite clearly.

Racists will be racists.
Don’t be fooled by their mealy mouthed “reasons” as to why they’re so triggered by this. Simple fact is, they don’t believe in or ever want to see racial equality.

So easy for you to tar people as racist who disagree your viewpoint.
In fact you know nothing about me and would apologise for your statement if you had some basic knowledge of my family background.
People will boo for all kinds of different reasons but please accept that many hate racism , at the same time are uncomfortable with the attached political implications..
If it was just supporting equality for all, and nothing else I would be complete agreement with you.

The biggest nonsense going is that supporters that boo are doing it for all sorts of reasons. They are only doing it for one reason, and that is a racist one. They don`t like people that are not white. They are being fuelled by the likes of Farage, the Government, and all the far right groups that pander to the racists at every turn, and refuse to condemn any of the boo boys, and then come out with all the mealy mouth excuses that it is do with politics. It isn`t.
At least if you are going to be a racist, own up to it, and stop hiding behind other things. Only cowards do that.

This really is the type of mentality that is causing us to become more polarized. People here are expressing their concerns and explaining how they feel and you are telling them that they are wrong and in fact a racist, which is one of the worst things that you can call somebody.
It reminds me of the whole brexit debate. I am an avid remainer and I have to say that I am ashamed at how I behaved during that period. I was snobbish and assumed that just because people wanted to leave that they were some kind of bigots. If I could go back I would be so much more measured and have a rational and open discussion about the issue and hopefully find some common ground. I promised myself that I'll never do that again.
This "absolute" way of describing people, categorizing them all into one bucket and telling them what they think isn't the right way to go about things. And as an "old timer" (which you claim to be) I would have thought that you would know this by now.
