This pretty much sums it up. The fact that the England team have given the reason for them kneeling as being showing unity against racism should be the end of any argument to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Quite, as Is the fact they chose a gesture of respect to show their solidarity with their colleagues, and support the games respect campaign
It's the perfect symbol. And given how clearly these points have been displayed on the thread so far I can forgive sizzles frustration that people are still scraping around to find an excuse to be annoyed at an anti-racism gesture.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Quite!? Quite you say? Hmmm, yes. It is rather
To be honest you sound just like another chin stroker who's pobably thinks they're more intelligent than they actually are.
If you can't see why some people maybe be upset over it, to at least acknowledge it, but then to hit people with the racist tag, tells people all they need to know.
Anyway, nearly time to wack on the Australian Gold. Don't forget the sun cream lads.

But it's been established numerous times that every weak excuse that is being thrown around for booing has been answered or exposed for the dumb thing it is but for some reason, you can't understand that...so the only thing left when you strip it all down is that you DON'T agree with anti-racism, and what does that make you??? i'm not going to call u it because i don't know you but can you understand how you sound?

Brentford stopped taking a knee a few months ago and have no intention of starting again.
The way this argument is being framed by some on here is that if you don't agree with the gesture you are pure and simply a racist.
Following on from that should we conclude that Brentford are a racist club?
Of course we shouldn't they are just being honest and admitting that any impact has long since gone and its the booing thats made it newsworthy again.

What are people to think is exactly the point.
Some people will/do think they've paid to watch a game of football not to be preached to by a group players who earn more in a week than most folk do in a year.
Doesn't make them racists, just like the players they are expressing an opinion.

You appear to be continuing to miss the point so much that I think it must be deliberate. You say Brentford no longer take the knee, but they don't appear to be actively booing opposition players who do. This means you are creating a false equivalence.
Nobody is saying that everyone must be forced to take the knee or they are racist. What people have said is that if you actively go out of your way to boo an anti-racism protest then you are displaying racist behaviour because you are being hostile to the idea of equality.
All of the excuses people give have been debunked within this thread as completely illogical or based on incorrect assumptions.

I think you are making too many assumptions.
Maybe some just don't think a 'message' before the game should happen? It's irrelevant what the message is.
Football is for entertainment, maybe it should be kept that way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What assumptions have been made? My first paragraph is pretty much factual. My second paragraph is pretty much factual. My third paragraph is pretty much factual.
If people don't think a message within a game is appropriate then they would also boo the national anthem, and also when teams have poppies put on their shirts. This doesn't seem to be happening very much so we have some evidence to suggest that it is the content of the message that is actually the issue rather than the existence of the message.

Or not kneel. 😉
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think the fans do kneel if they don't want to. So that's already sorted.
Football is for entertainment, maybe it should be kept that way.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ideally yes, but they are getting abused before, during and after the match, you know, when the 'entertainment' is finished so taking 10 secs to highlight the abuse, which is not even about football, it's about their skin colour, is not preaching.

I think you are making too many assumptions.
Maybe some just don't think a 'message' before the game should happen? It's irrelevant what the message is.
Football is for entertainment, maybe it should be kept that way.

Think the best way to clear this up is to not boo and shut your mouth for about 10 seconds.
Sorted.

Or not kneel. 😉

I don't think the fans do kneel if they don't want to. So that's already sorted.

Ideally yes, but they are getting abused before, during and after the match, you know, when the 'entertainment' is finished so taking 10 secs to highlight the abuse, which is not even about football, it's about their skin colour, is not preaching.

That;s because booing and disliking the gesture makes absolutely no sense (unless you're a bit racist).
