If this almighty and all powerful God does exist, hasn't he failed us?

Pretty much, don't think much of his design skills either, the worlds turned into a right fackin dump.
Who's to say it has stopped? Evolution from species to species supposedly takes millions of years. Are you expecting someone to witness it?

1 in 10 humans are completely immune to the HIV virus. The human body is starting to defend itself and there is a blood cell mutation meaning that the virus can't latch onto the blood cells which it needs to survive thus these people cannot catch AIDS.
Is this not evolution fighting back against AIDS?
2000 years ago the best form of technology we had was a sundial, now we have things like the Large Hadron Collider and the internet. Is that not a sign of evolution?
It's funny how science actually has holes that tie in with religion, for example when you die, the body loses weight suddenly. Why is that?
All fascinating stuff.
Wow that's really interesting MUDD, so if I may ask what religion do you lean towards to?

If we can still evolve within our respective species, why has evolution from one species to the next stopped?

Carbon dating says life has only existed for roughly 62,000 years and we are all carbon based lifeforms, so the millions of years thing is hogwash, based on science of course.
Science says so

Okay from single celled organism to a mammal may take this long, but if evolution is ongoing there would certainly be a settlement of homoerectus somewhere.
Arab, I consider myself a Christian. I can't say my life reflects the life of Jesus Christ by the way. I would be lying if I did.
Christianity is a way of life and not a religion. Sadly most Christians do not practice what they preach.
Can you elaborate on this Daniel's timeline, Fred Bassett?
To those saying evolution hasn't stopped, MUDD isn't saying it has among species themselves. He is referring to evolution from species to species, i.e. from apes to mankind.
Well well well this is a debate I never thought I'd see on Ja606 lol!!
Well apparently the universe was created from a single point (similar to Einstein's theory of a singularty inside a black hole) and inside this single infinitive single point nor time or space existed, after time it became unstable and then the big bang (obviously not a bang because sound can't travel in space like it does through air atoms on earth) then the universe expends and the eventually the early stars are born which leads on to stars creating the bigger elements!
Now movin on from that there is a lot we cannot comprehend on how does a singularity work or what is outside of the known universe or where the hell did dark energy or dark matter derive from??
Whether there is a higher power at work balancing the universe galaxy and solar systems or is our science knowledge still very primitive? Who knows... But for science and pysicis it is an exciting time to live in...
Let's hope being a Liverpool fan is too in the comin season
im a bit cautious about getting drawn into this one about species evolution, however i would comment that if it is the case that humans have "stopped" evolving, it may be possible to explain that by us being at the top of the food chain.

Carbon dating is only used for natural/living objects as they degrade (relatively) more quickly than say rocks. Uranium dating for rocks gives the projections into the millions of years and beyond. Ice cores from the arctic/greenland/antarctic will also give readings from much further back than carbon dating can prove.
Darwin's views and these in your face atheists are no better or worse than the preachers stood on the streets with bibles in their hands in my opinion, whatever you choose to believe.
Having spoken to people who have had religious experiences - and read into it a lot myself in the last few months I've really opened my mind to religion.

What about Genetic manupliation. Jellyfish anti-frezze gene in a tomato, would the fact that is a man made genetic "enhancement" count as evolution?

carbon dating doesn't say that at all, carbon dating can only date to 62,000 years as the isotopes degrade after that point.
I know this doesn't prove anything about living beings being on earth but it says alot for the planet as a whole

Look at evolution for example, I believe 100% that we evolve within a species but struggle to believe species evolve from one to another. Why have they stopped then?

Have we stopped evolving?
Look at the dexterity and additional movement scientists see in thumbs over the last 20 years

I said we evolve within a species but do not believe one species evolves to another.
Even unicellular organisms do not evolve from one to the other. How many amoeba's have evolved to paramecium's?
The evidence of this happening is at best questionable and if it were true (science contradicts itself here as well), we should see this happening now.
=====
We see evolution now from said research. Evolution to another form or as you would say species takes thousaands of years. Do you not believe we evolved from the early form of man seen 60,000 years ago in places like Creswell Crags?

I 100% believe there is evolution within a species but do not believe in evolution from one species to another.
Why would a fish in the ocean want to evolve to a land animal?
Why would a monkey that is more agile than us, stronger than us and can survive in extreme conditions in the wild want to become a puny human? Come on!
