the big bang theory is just that a theory is a gimme to science as a starting place for science to move forward from, its widely accepted that a big bang was unlikely to have occured.

the lhc should give us a clearer idea of whats going on, recent research suggests the known universe is a 2d hologram, unbelievable I know, there is also the notion that there isnt a singke universe but a multiverse and a finite amount of those.

I just can't comprehend how 1 religion can have 1000s of denominations

Easy to explain.

The bible was originally written in Paleo Hebrew - it has been translated over and over again and this causes mixes in interpretation. As a linguist I can tell you translations are never exact.

You can never take the bible word for word unless you can read and understand Paleo Hebrew perfectly.

These denominations have just interpreted the bible differently.

What's so great about science. Scientist were the ones to develop atomic bombs, chemicals to destroy our environment etc!
Personally, after some hardship (time in the desert you might say), I can't say I know much about G-d, or love or religion, but I have faith, that there's a God, a higher power that has good intentions towards humans.

I dont believe in a god as such in the traditional sense of the meaning, I believe we are all connected through space time and a spiritual connection, everything in the cosmos is inter linked imo. there are some intresting science experiments, I forgot the correct terms but for example if you put an object in a closed box, its not viewed its atoms could be anywhere in the universe, the same logic applies to a hand when not in view, il try find the scientific term, an experiment was done whereby paint was splattered through a gap in a wall on a wall behind, when viewed the paint was consistent with the gap, when not viewed it was randomly splattered everywhere.

Why did he allow these scientists to create such horrid things?

I think the religious people say because it's to test us, he's letting us destroy ourselves to test us, or something, sounds reasonable.

why is this on Liverpool board?

I have faith more now that I ever had.

What people don't understand is that God does not have control over everybody. Now I'm going to explain this so badly as I don't pretend to fully understand it but God will never come to you. You have to go to him.

For example, would you guys want your team to sign a player if he was half assed about it? Of course not. You really want players playing for the shirt and it's the same for God - or so it says in the Bible (no idea where). He wants you to want him - he's not going to fight for somebody who doesn't believe in it.

"I think the religious people say because it's to test us, he's letting us destroy ourselves to test us, or something, sounds reasonable."

Humans were given free will and many of them have given themselves over to the devil (again I don't fully believe this so don't shoot the messenger just making points).

Has anybody heard of spiritual warfare?

You would have thought at least one of the many thousands of gods we have could have left some evidence of their existence.

They're all the same these gods, careless
