Can you be white skinned, but identify as a black person?

In that case the "The BBC defended the advert, saying the training scheme on offer was designed to 'address an identified under-representation of people from ethnic minority backgrounds in certain roles' and was the 'right thing to do'".
When I was a graduate years ago a lot of their roles were only for none white people as well. Very very strange. If we put put a job ad that said white people only apply I don't think it would even get past indeeds review process.

That article also says "In March (2017), the government urged employers and businesses to do more to improve BAME diversity voluntarily within their organisations – or face the prospect of mandatory diversity requirements."
It won't stop the Daily Mail crowd foaming at the mouth about the BBC, but non half-wits should understand the context.

Yeah I get why they do it, but it’s not something I’m keen on. There’s a whole host of things that could go wrong such as creating divisions in the work place. If the selected person doesn’t do well in the role it could it very difficult to get rid of them, considering there’s been such open discrimination when hiring them.

On the job advert, as well as a list of required/desirable skills, they should also include a colour chart.

add lesbian onto that and that person will have a job for life
My wife worked with a wheelchair bound disabled person in a government role. She was absolutely useless, mistake after mistake. Constant attempts at retraining didn’t work and she was clearly just not capable of doing the job. The bosses were quite open with the fact that they were too scared to just sack her, for fear of accusations of discrimination.

You've got to be so so careful, we spend a fortune on an external HR team and it took 6 months to get rid of someone everyone knew was absolutely useless but with all the performance reviews they have to be on and recorded conversations it takes the mick.
Best thing anyone can do if there job is on the line is announce you're a transgender or like you say rock up to work in a wheelchair.

surprised it's legal, i'd have thought you are allowed apply quotas to interview candidates, but not to job offers themselves.
still, gives me some hope for my "no blacks, no irish" theme pub idea.
